Not really, the author is forgetting numerous uprising in the Arab states, Hama 1982 is one for example. The difference between TTP and other groups today is that it has no foreign support, no group really survives without atleast one foreign backer.

My own analysis of TTP

*TTP died with the death of Baitullah mehsud
*NDS saw this as opportunity and offered a Joint venture to RAW.
*Together they organized the TTP under Hakimullah mehsud
*They were supplied by weapons and money directly by RAW through NDS.
*Amrullah saleh was behind all this and was directly helped by Govt of India.

So the latest TTP is nothing but a foreign funded terrorist organization.

Got any proof? As far as I know, the first attempt by the NDS to contact TTP was immediately shut down by the US in 2014, and with regards to the Indian connection, you're most likely pulling that out your ass.
