Pakistan indeed lost some but also gained in other fields. But worst days are behind Pakistan, terrorist attacks have been reduced 70-80% since Zarb Azb operation.

In year or two terrorism victims will be below 200 per year like in pre 2003 era.

This is what the Afghans forget. While Afghanistan is still helplessly getting raped by the Taliban, Pakistan is pulverizing its own enemies. There's no more public support for the Taliban anymore like there was in say....2012 or 2013. Our mentality has changed.

We'll see what happens. From the data we currently have in front of us, all we can predict is Afghanistan will turn into an ISIS-Taliban-warlord haven while Pakistan will still stand strong due to operation Zarb-e-Azb and strong public support against Islamists.

Taliban doesn't like to engage in pitched battles, preferring to retreat and striking when the main enemy force has gone back. So the success of operation ZeA depends on whether the Paki Army wants to stay in the tribal areas forever.

Pakistan Army will stay in the tribal areas until 2018. In 3 years we can all be sure Afghanistan will have collapsed.
