I think they join the war for military and financial gains,to ease US sanction because of nuclear weapon, further Musharraf was dictator and dictator can't absorb this much high pressure. he was looking for acceptance from international community and this was a good opportunity.
according to Musharraf they were of the view that US will install a Pakistan friendly government in Kabul but Karzai stabbed us back (US did exactly opposite) , it was there when we started efforts and start supported Taliban for comeback.

pak is only good at one thing and that is to sell their own people which is why people are leaving that shyt hole any way they can. The rise of the taliban had more to do with the failures of the afghan gov which basically was an NA warlord gov who only worked to fill their own pockets.

The Shia Orakzai live south of the Mustara River. About 10% of Orakzai are Shia. There is a shrine of Syed Mir Anwar Shah in Kalaya which is what Shamlawar was referring to.
