Nothing can be more misleading than the belief that 'education' is a key to Pashtuns' problem. We need to understand that Pashtuns' issues are not educational but political in nature; they are not economic or commercial but ideological. Don't we know that the state education is geared towards desensitizing, deculturing and disorientating Pashtuns, and has not the state been on the spot? It is not the education per se but the political awareness and consciousness that leads to solution of political issues. The politically aware among Pashtuns either belong to politically conscious background, thanks to Bacha Khan's torch-bearing politics or they achieved freedom from the political dogma by dint of sheer critical thinking and insight into historical, political and social/sociological processes. Just imagine how much the deep state wants Baluch to be half as educated as its Pashtun subjects.
