  • Inhumane tactics of Daesh in Afghanistan

As you all know, Daesh is using extreme and inhumane tactics and strategies to intimidate and scare the public in Afghanistan, merely to meet their unlawful demands and expand their territory. Recently, a horrific video was released by Daesh fighters, which showed blindfolded Afghan prisoners forced to kneel on top of explosives buried just underneath the soil and the bombs were set off simultaneously. These coward and inhumane acts of Daesh will stop only if Afghans come together and stand against them.

One of the greatest tools to combat Daesh is to simply get citizens involved and make sure they understand how important it is to report anything that is out of place to Afghan Security Forces

In your opinion, what are some other ways to counter Daesh’s activity in Afghanistan?

Making the national forces further stronger. Each inch of Afghanistan must be under government control. Media must be used against terrorists. Peopel do not come out protesting because they feel insecure. Encourage public to raise their voices by educating them and giving them security.

Besides traditional Pashtun norms must be reinforced so that power lies with Pashtuns and especially Pashtun elites and not Mullahs. The stronger is Pashtunwali , the weaker will be Islamism.

A fool proof plan to achieve your goals:

      1. Don't do anything Badlun just said to do. Instead, train him in hand to hand combat, arm him and make him the front line of an expeditionary force. Limit his ability to lobby for any action until he has to take the brunt of the action.

      2. Read history and read it again and then again. Each region where you intervene has only produced more reactionary and more inflammatory groups after you perform decapitation operations and even after you have proxies theoretically disarm and "erase" these insurgency groups.

      3. Look into how said group came into being:
You went to a reasonably stable secular Iraq, based on the pretense that a thug that you originally armed and cheered on when he attacked Iran was a "tyrant" and that he was "committing genocide." That was of course after the WMD fabrication and is on contradiction to the policy everywhere else where murderous thugs have Western backing and have committed many genocidal acts without the US saying a word.

You then fought some combination of nationalist and religionist armed groups and tribals. The lattermost you paid off to sit on the sidelines which worked until the funds dried up and until you ignored the fact that you put in place a shiite government with armed militias that would go on to commit further atrocities in the sunni belt.

This article details the genesis of the said group in superb detail. It was in fact in Camp Bucca that this group was born:
A former US military compound commander at Camp Bucca suspects ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's extremism was fostered (or bolstered) at the facility.

In the past 10 years these groups have metastasized, grown in strength, learned to be more agile, developed more radical and aggressive ideologies etc.

Each leader that is killed results in a yet more radical one rising to the top. Each group that you drive underground through either covert means (MB in Egypt) results in the over surfacing of yet a more dramatically violent and capable group.

      4. Make Ron Paul the president, Kucinich his VP and Michael Scheuer the head of the CIA. Return Chuck Hagel to the top post in the Pentagon.

Each of these men will implement a policy that forces Badlun and other fifth column citizens to not use tax dollars and international funds on a fools errand.

Basically, these voices are like the Havana boys that fled Cuba in the post post Batista revolution and helped implement a disastrous and failed Cuba policy that now Americans have decided was not worth the trouble.

With their policy, and without an outside intervention to blame - these groups will all start focusing violence on each other and eventually a break even point will occur which will force locals and local states to take care of the problem themselves.

Also recognize that it took the Brits nearly a century to establish some semblance of a shoddy central government on former Afghan lands in what is now Pakistan. Pictures from 50 years ago show some meager steps toward a developed city. That took an intense amount of blood, money, and intrigues and they (Brits) were the masters of the latter who operated under a military system that did not award private contracts and other vested interests in their nation building endeavors.

This in turn meant that what they wanted to build would be made of brick and mortar and would last based on the principle of an empire for "God and Queen." This is in contrast to the fact that these various contractors currently want to maintain a high net profit margin and bid for exorbitant contracts. Sopko and his team have shown that this then results in these firms knowing they can build a semi functioning or subpar structure/edifice/etc. without much oversight. Or if there is oversight and prosecution it comes about a decade or so later than it should. Basically the driving capitalistic principle that works well on American soil translates into disastrous nation building since the motive is not to sustain "God and Country" but rather to reap a massive net gain in low bid large contracts. These parasites are the very shaky foundation of nation building endeavors and show that the modern American model is in sharp contrast to the Marshall plan model of yesteryear.

In essence, so if the Empire Under the Sun could barely get former Afghan lands to semi functioning congruous unit (FATA was proof that they even had trouble with this goal) in 100+ years - I find it highly unlikely that the American Empire with the aforementioned limitations will be able to centralize governance in any meaningful way in Afghanistan.

So once again, avoid bad advice (for instance form Badlun) that merely results in the error of confirmation bias wherein Hashmat and Co already are operating under a belief that what they are doing is perfect and they decide to selectively hear out the Badlun types that keep edging the proverbial lemming over the less proverbial cliff. Instead, listen to the evidences and the historical precedent and use sound judgement based on the data at hand.

Read into the history of the groups and what motivates and drives them. If you hear the Badlun types trying to depict them these groups as random actors that are nihilists understand your own CIA experts (Michael Scheuer head of Alec Station) have thoroughly debunked this view with open source evidence.
