Taliban office and training camps being open in Iran shows the perception of danger Shais feel from ISIL---the same Taliban who murdered Irani diplomat in Mazar. In fact an ISIL commander in Farah even state there were Iranian Sapa Pasdaran leading Taliban offensive against them. Iran action more or less is defensive, for there is no grantee ISIL will be channeled to central asia and or not towards Iran. This is the new phase in war; I would think eventually Kunduz will be in hands of ISIL—for strategically it’s vital to projection of Islamic extremist towards central Asia. In fact a few years ago Karzai mention foreigner helicopters taking suspicious people to Kunduz—this means the ground work for Kunduz takeover was prepared long time ago. Reportedly, ANA is not serious in defending the province and the region, and the fight has been outsourced mostly to local militias; whom the local people hate very much. This will put the main burden of the war on shoulders of "mujahideen government." I would think these actions constitute a serious threat to the survival and or influence of Muj warlords. This also indicate Kabul is all onboard with the plan, which make me hopefully the management of “islamist” will be given to Kabul—just as Islamabad was rewarded in 80s and 90s.
This war is all about economic pressures and the threat of war has nothing to do with conquering lands or invading. So here it goes Miss Libertas and rest of flat earther Huntingtonian “clash of civilizations” they were hoping for.
