Captain Nilofar Rahmani, the first female fixed-wing Afghan Air Force pilot in the history of Afghanistan, was awarded the International Women of Courage award by the United States State Department. The award recipients came from all corners of the world.
The recipients lead lives that symbolize exceptional courage and immense leadership in advocating peace, justice, human rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Captain Rahmani, who has become an inspiration for millions of young women in Afghanistan, was only 18 years old when she heard about the recruitment of women into the Afghan Air Force, and graduated two years after she joined.
What is your opinion of Captain Nilofar Rahmani’s accomplishment?
Very respectfully,
Hashmat
