The leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) affiliates in Afghanistan has said that the Taliban militants are fighting on behalf of Pakistan’s military intelligence – Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
In an interview with BBC Persian, the ISIS leader in Afghanistan, Abdul Rahim Muslim Dost, said they found other ways to wage jihad after realizing Taliban are receiving instructions from Pakistani intelligence.
The former Guantanamo prisoner says they are defending against the Taliban attacks and confirmed the group’s fighters are engaged in fighting with the Taliban militants.
He said the Taliban militants initially started fight with the ISIS affiliates and warned that anyone who start fighting with them will face death.
This comes a local official in Nangarhar province said ISIS affiliates have beheaded at least ten Taliban fighters after they were captured following an ambush in Achin district.
In other parts interview, Dost called the airstrikes the most barbaric way of killing and insisted that beheading is the most pitiful way to execute a convict.
Dost said the airstrikes cause casualties to everyone including women, children and elders while their fighters have been instructed to refrain from harming the civilians.

There some truth in what he says. Many senior Taliban members haven't seen their family in years because their family are kidnapped by ISI.

Besides, some Taliban have a twisted interpretation of reality. They consider the state in Afghanistan as a taghoot but the state in Pakistan is not taghoot.

These matters have seriously harmed Taliban. This is why TTP en Isis are still growing in numbers.

ISIS in Afghanistan and Pakistan is a myth just like that Ghazni uprising they called the Ghazni awakening was all smoke screen a few years back.

ISIS insurgency is a reaction the shia centric policies in Iraq. The insurgency in Afghanistan is a reaction to Tajik/Hazara centric policies and a central gov that is out of touch with its people. The Afghan insurgency is not cohesive nor has any central authority and operates in a chaotic environment where many intelligence agencies operate for their own interests which does not negate the Pashtun quarrel with the Afghan gov which is Tajik/Hazara centric.

Islamic State’s ‘Khorasan province’ threatens Taliban in latest video

In text scrolled across the bottom of the screen, the group alleges that the Taliban attacked its fighters in the Nangarhar province in the middle of May. The speaker says that his men will avenge their fallen comrades.

Multiple published accounts since the beginning of the year have reported on the clashes between the Taliban and the Islamic State’s representatives in Nangarhar and elsewhere in Afghanistan. One account, published yesterday, claims that the Islamic State’s men captured and then decapitated 10 Taliban fighters after they fled a battle with local Afghan security forces. Another version of the story says the Islamic State’s jihadists ambushed the Taliban fighters as they were making their way to a battle with the Afghan National Army (ANA).
Now we have an insurgency within an insurgency. I'm not sure how a possible future peace deal might be affected by this. Perhaps it will result in more fighters defecting to Daesh.

There is a very small group. But even they are not exactly the same as the ones in Iraq.

ISIS in Afghanistan is a manufactured myth. If there is a small presence, it seems just be some random people claiming to be ISIS. It has been exaggerated.

After the attack in Jalalabad back in April, Ghani was the first to claim that ISIS was responsible for it before ISIS denied it, implying they don't even have a presence in Afghanistan. The reasoning obviously is his hopes to pressure Obama to reverse the decision for US withdrawal something he has been publicly opposed to.

Agreed. I am convinced that Ghani is the biggest beneficiary from a possible Isis insurgency in Afghanistan.

Abdurrahim muslimdost and Abu yazid Abdul qaher are the only to Isis leaders in Afghanistan. They have chosen Isis only because they are against Pakistan involvement in Islamic movements in the region.

I know Abu yazid Abdul qahers ideology. He is actually quite different from the Isis leaders I know in Iraq & Syria.

Likewise Muslimdost is also very different.

I don't think many people will join them to form a big branch of Isis. Besides, they may even turn their back on Isis. Some people in Afghanistan and Pakistan have a very different perception of Isis. They falsely assume that Isis might bring about positive change in Islamic world.

I think it's because most people are desperate for change.

That stuff existed before anyone knew of ISIS:
Afghan authorities are reporting that masked men hanged at least 11 Taliban commanders in eastern Afghanistan.

I believe IS in Afghanistan is a reality, although not an "official" arm of the main group but former Taliban who have split from the fold. Of course Ghani will play up a minor threat in order to make sure that American money keeps rolling in.

I don't have enough info to really make a clear observation of what is happening on the ground because there are conflicting things going on. We have heard very little from IS in Afghanistan but from accounts, including the government and IS themselves, they are fighting the Taliban and the Taliban have suffered losses. This has been happening in more than one province which would lead one to believe that there might be a larger IS presence than previously believed. Interestingly enough, the Taliban have not mentioned anything about these clashes as usually when something hits the news they either confirm or deny right away.

                            LOL

I think you have been grabbing at straws for a while ever since Obama made clear there will be a full US withdrawal.

Do you even care to read that which you don't want to hear?

This is Obama speech right next to Ghani even after Ghani went on US media talking about a manufactured ISIS threat, and before his speech to Congress. Who do you think Ghani is when US generals cant even pressure Obama? Lets not be selective now because I think you were one of those who proudly cheered on when Obama signed the SPA as proof that US will stay forever. Now that Obama has decided on a full US withdrawal, you want to say that US is lying?

                            http://www.washingtonpost.com/politi...4ff_story.html

President Obama said Tuesday that he would freeze U.S. troop levels in Afghanistan at 9,800 through the end of the year but vowed to end the American war by the end of his presidency.
Obama announced that he would slow the planned withdrawal of U.S. troops after a White House meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. The decision to keep more U.S. forces in Afghanistan this year was driven by the administration’s confidence in Ghani, whom Obama praised repeatedly. Relations between Ghani’s predecessor, Hamid Karzai, and the U.S. government had been steadily deteriorating for years. Obama lauded Ghani, who took office in September, for taking on “the mantle of commander in chief in a way that we have not seen in the past from an Afghan president.”
But Obama also made it clear that he wouldn’t depart from his current plan to close the remaining U.S. bases in Afghanistan and consolidate the remaining U.S. forces in Kabul by the end of 2016.
“Afghanistan is still a dangerous place,” Obama said. “The way it’s going to become less dangerous is by Afghan security forces* being capable of keeping law and order and security in the country, and that is not going to happen if foreign forces* are continually relied upon.”
"The past is not my concern. The future is no longer my concern either. One minute. One minute of everything at once. And anything before is nothing. Everything after nothing. Nothing in comparison to that one minute."

Ghani can't even control his government let alone any armed resistance against his weak armed forces. He can't contain IS any more than he can the Taliban who his people have been talking to despite the Taliban capturing districts.
