  • Tagore’s ‘Kabuliwala’ has given us a brand: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani

“Abul Kalam Azad, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru were not names but ideas people leaders. I would like to pay tribute to Indian democracy, to the discourse of rule of law, to the discourse of equality, to the discourse to the engagement in transformation,” he said.

Tagore’s ‘Kabuliwala’ has given us a brand: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani

Rabindranath Tagore’s famous short story “Kabuliwala” has contributed more to brand Afghanistan which it could not do with billions of dollars, Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said today while fondly remembering the late Nobel laureate.

Ghani, who arrived here yesterday, identified terror as a major challenge facing the region and said his government was determined to make Afghanistan the “graveyard of terror”.

He was full of praise for Indian democracy as he talked about Tagore and the cultural links between the two countries.

In “Kabuliwala”, Tagore depicts the story of an Afghan travelling to India with the intention to earn some money in order to pay debts and to save his home in Afghanistan.

“May I take a moment to thank Rabindranath Tagore. ‘Kabuliwala’ has done more to give us a brand which we could not buy with a billion dollars of advertisements.

“I am delighted that the old version is being watched and a new version is being prepared that will give you a much more authentic sitting inside Afghanistan,” Ghani said while speaking at a joint briefing along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House.

He fondly remembered the works of Tagore and said that he was taught about the famous author during his childhood by his grandmother.
“I speak of Tagore because I was raised on Tagore by my grandmother who lived in Dehradun…,” Ghani said while talking about India’s vision and the remarkable transformation.

“But India’s impact on others is not been as much understood.”
Ghani also spoke about Abul Kalam Azad, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru and talked highly about Indian democracy.

Malauna ghulams own granddaughter is in fascist BJP, doing her job as good puppet of saffron establishment.

Gandhi is considered British puppet by RSS and Hindu hardliners, he was killed by another Hindu godse and slept with hisn18 year old granddaughter, such great man, mashallah

Nehru was clever pervert ended up dying of syphilis, then in his name his corrupt descendants ruled India for 60 years looting Indians and spreading outdated ideology of socialism.

How can Mualana Abul Kalam be responsible for what his grand-daughter will do a century later when he will be dead. But I know it is your great Punjabi wisdom speaking.

And do you know how many Punjabi Muslims fought for the British Raj during WW II as mercenaries-almost 2 millions by one account. Even when British were handing over power to natives the predecessors of your heroes were loyal servants in the Raj Army doing all the in-dignified things that sycophant subservient people do.

Rest what you say is just a nonsense.

They all agreed to the partition of India which resulted to the problems we have today.

Great leaders solve problems, not create them.

Then you are not living in the present when you blame Maulana Azad who lived in the past for what his daughter is doing in the present. That contradicts your claim of taking into account the present only and forgetting the past.

              You cannot invent heroes.

None of your overglorified heroes did any thing heroic. Most were lackeys of the British Raj and acted as typical brown Sahibs emulating the British masters seeking only the protection and preservation of their feudal interests and doing nothing for freedom --not even one second of sacrifice or suffering for freedom. Now don't get jealous and have some integrity to recognize greatness.

Yes, I know that but a part of Congress as well as the West was intent on partitioning the Subcontinent to have a place for them to wage the containment war against USSR and defend the Middle East.

Why are you against partition? I mean Bacha Baz Khan was clearly traitor, if it was up to him he would have sold us to India. Not to forget his relative marrying harami sikh in the name of secularism. Because I doubt he would have agreed if not for fake secularism niqaab sake.

                  Lanat on all of them.

He didn't sell any body to India. A person who can pass almost one-third of his life in prison and suffer other hardships for his principles is least expected to do that. Were he interested in his own interests he could have sold himself to British or later the heirs of the British Raj. Who could have paid him better than them. Yet he stood his ground.

On the contrary every one of your heroes was a crony of the British masters that sold the natives to the British Empire the colonizer of the whole world as well as the Muslim lands.

But being one degenerate Punjabi among many nice Punjabis you have no shame in blaming others for what you exactly did.

It doesnt matter. He still agreed to it. He should have done everything possible to prevent it and if the forces were too powerful then he should have resigned to make a point that he is completely against it. But he signed it confirming what most indic people are, baighyrat.

Muhajirs were not even supposed to move to Pakistan. The reason you guys are still called muhajirs is because agreement to exchange population was only between both punjab. But haramkhor muhajirs who were landless slaves in UP/Bihar started to run towards Pakistan.

Thats why hindu sindhis didn't leave intially, and neither India wanted sindhi hindus. It was your harami muhajirs ancestors who run towards Karachi and started to kill sindhi hindus so they could leave.

Looking back I would rather have educated trading class of sindhi hindus then haramis like you.
