Practical benefits of the "Pakistani" (Punjabi) nuclear bomb

    - Pakistan has 41 million people without toilets, link.

    - 3 million Pashtun refugees.

    - 2 million slaves (third highest in the world), link.

    - Taliban terrorism.

    - Karachi a city full of violence, criminality and fear.

    - Baloch insurgency.

    - Death of famous politicians e.g. Benazir Bhutto, Governor of Punjab etc.

    - 79% illiteracy according to one source from 2012.

ISLAMABAD: According to latest report of UN education department UNESCO, the illiteracy percentage was 79 percent in Pakistan in 2012 and the number of Pakistan was 180 in the list of 221 in big or small countries in the world.

*However other sources say now it is more like 60% (i.e. if Pakistan is 180 million, 72 million Pakistanis can't read).

    We could carry on.

However we can safely say that after 70 years of (mis)rule, Pakistan is a failure.

The institution that has ruled it for a big portion, if not the majority, of its existence is the army.

The army are corrupt and immoral.

They are greedy and are engaged in making themselves richer, securing land and property and enriching their families.

However they also feel they are engaged in a phallic ego-contest with India for supremacy in south Asia.

Has the nuclear bomb protected Pakistan from being invaded by India?

    Yes.

    Most definitely.

Without it there is a high chance India could have invaded and taken control of parts of Pakistan as it did in previous wars e.g. 1965 when it went to Lahore.

Such a scenario is not imaginable now because if India does go beyond Pakistani lines then we would in theory expect Pakistan to use its nuclear bomb.

However Bangladesh has not been invaded since 1971 either.

Nor is it possible for India to invade and occupy Bangladesh with its population of 160 million (0.2 million army and 5 million reservists + citizens militia i.e. VDP).

    However unlike Pakistan, Bangladesh:

    - Does not have foreign bases on its soil be it American, Chinese, Russian or Indian.

    - Does not have foreign drones operating on its soil.

    - Does not have US navy seals violating its airspace and killing Usama bin Laden inside its territory.

    - Does not have the US airforce killing almost two dozen of its soldiers as per the Salar attack.

NATO Kills 24 Pakistani Troops in 2-Hour Assault on Pakistani Base, Tensions Flare in Region
NATO helicopters and fighter jets attacked two remote Pakistani military outposts on Saturday, killing at least 24 Pakistani soldiers. The air strike took place along the Afghanistan border in Pakistan’s tribal district of Mohmand. Pakistan has said the attack was unprovoked, but a senior Kabul-based Western official claims NATO and Afghan forces came under fire and responded in self-defense. Pakistan responded Saturday by blocking vital supply routes for U.S.-led troops in Afghanistan and demanded the United States vacate a base used to launch drone attacks. We speak with Glenn Greenwald, constitutional law attorney and political and legal blogger for Salon.com. “We may never know what happened here for certain… But what is clear is that the endless war that the United States has been engaged in since 9/11 doesn’t seem to be in sight of ending. Quite the contrary, it seems to be escalating by the week almost,” Greenwald says. [includes rush transcript]

    - Does not have the US threatening to turn it to the "stoneage" if it doesn't start a war against another country as per Musharraf's claims over Pakistan turning against the Taliban government of Afghanistan in 2001.

    - Does not have Iran coming in to its soil, staying there for 6 hours and killing its citizens.

Iranian border guards attacked a vehicle of Frontier Corps, a para-military force, inside Pakistani territory killing one FC man and injuring three others on Friday morning.

Khan Wasey, the Spokesman FC told Dawn.com that Iranian border guards have been violating Pakistani territory since the past two days....

Wasey said 30 Iranian border guards entered into Pakistan's town of Nokundi which borders Iran and made the residents of a nearby village hostage for six hours.

"They subjected the residents to physiological torture and then left,"

    - Does not have militants capturing and killing Bangladeshi soldiers as the Taliban captured and brutally killed Pakistani soldiers.

So in real terms, the "Pakistani" (Punjabi) nuclear bomb has made no real difference to Pakistan apart from enabling to "boast" of their nuclear status whereas:

    - Saudi Arabia bosses them around politically.
    - Turkey has more influence in the world including in neighbouring Afghanistan.
    - Iran can enter Pakistani territory and kill Pakistani soldiers.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran are all stronger than Pakistan.

    Indonesia too.

Even Bangladesh has more self-respect and dignity than this failed terrorist state.

Bengali, take it easy, we pashtuns dont fear nuclear attack, you and your paracha buddy are going into nuclear paranoia. As muslims we believe that marg (death) is absolute fact, you have to die one day, either by some disease or trauma or whether it is instant one in blast, nuclear or some other. Fear Allah bengali, not nukes.

The Pakistan military are the biggest enemies of the Pakistani nation.

        They are traitors.

They are traitors who have brainwashed people in to worshipping them and in to believing anyone who questions them is an enemy and can even be killed.

Pakistan like any other country has good people in it and bad people in it.

Unfortunately civil society in Pakistan has not been able to render the Pakistani army subordinate to civilian control.

The day when Pakistani civil society is able to do that and to make a Pakistani state which works for the uplifting of the social, economic and emotional well being of its citizens then only is Pakistan truly free.

Pakistan is in reality under occupation.

Under occupation of a brutal army which syphones off much needed money and resources to itself whilst the average Pakistani starves.

I wish Pakistani civil society well in taming this beast.

Hamid Mir, Pakistani TV presenter and figure of hate for the traitor Pakistan army and its worshippers.

Asma Jahangir, a human rights activist and important member of Pakistani civil society.

Pakistani human rights activist, the legendary Ansar Burney.

I wish Pakistani civil society well in containing these animals, known as the Pakistan army generals, otherwise they will destroy the country and it will go in to the history books, just as Yugoslavia and the USSR have done so.

          1. These nuclear bombs are indeed Punjabi bombs and not "Pakistani" ones.

Pakistani nationalists online regularly speak about using nukes on Waziristan.

a: Before having nukes, in 1971 they carried out what was the "nuke" option at that time in east Pakistan i.e. complete and utter destruction of the country, genocide and mass rape.

b: They have made 3 million Pashtuns refugees in the past few years in Pakistan and 1 million of these 3 million have become refugees in the past year and many of their villages and homes have been destroyed.

The only difference between that and a nuclear attack is there is no radioactive fall out but in terms of utter destruction it is the same.

c: They slaughtered tens of thousands of Urdu-speakers in Karachi in 1996, possibly tens of thousands.

d: They have also carried out major atrocities in Balochistan.

So they have carried out war crimes and murder in 4 of the 5 (current and former) provinces of Pakistan:

          - East Pakistan
          - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (former NWFP)
          - Sindh (Karachi)
          - Balochistan

The only province in which they have never made a major operation is of course - surprise, surprise - the Punjab.

As we both know, "Pakistan" is Punjab i.e. a Punjabi empire with non-Punjabis as second class citizens or colonial subjects, camouflaged with the use of superficial nationalism and evocation of religious sentiment.

          2. The Pakistani state and military are supported by America.

America is the main reason for the suffering of the Muslims of Sindh, Balochistan and Pakhtunkhwa today.

American writer (most probably US spy i.e. undercover "intelligence officer" also academic), Christine Fair is essentially a fake and in essence a liar.

          Christine Fair, US "academic".

A fake in that her narrative tries to convey the impression that the US has been "tricked" by the devious Pakistani/Punjabi army.

The truth is that the US has far from been tricked, but actually controls the Pakistan army and is fully aware of what goes on.

          - The Pakistani state and army cannot survive without American handouts. If the Americans were to stop funding and supporting Pakistan, it would collapse.

America controls Pakistan and it has no interest in seeing this very useful proxy disappear.

America and others in the Anglo-Saxon world also harbour a deep historical hatred of Pashtuns due to their humiliation at the hands of Pashtuns including Kabul 1841.

So seeing thousands of Pashtuns being killed now and millions made homeless pleases them.

          3. Without US support, Pakistan would quickly fold. You know Punjabis well and know that despite all their bravado when strong they are a people with little real honour and moral depth. They will quickly fold when faced with strong pressure.

About two years ago the then Pakistani PM, Gilani, spoke of having a referendum on possible independence for Balochistan.

The very fact that he even mentioned that showed how successful the Baloch insurgency was.

The Baloch insurgency seems to have died down dramatically (who knows), but if it were to inconvenience Punjabis heavily they would do another "Gilani" and possibly accept a referendum on independence to get rid of Balochistan if it becomes more of a headache than an asset.

If Balochistan becomes independent the Pakistan project is finally over.

Baloch independence = Sindhis next day copying the Baloch with an armed struggle = Punjab unable to cope with 40 million Sindhis wanting independence.

Sindhi independence = Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the only remaining states in the federation, and in such a scenario Pashtuns would separate from a rump Pakistan.

          If Sindh goes, Pakistan ends.

However if Balochistan goes, Pakistan wouldn't end, as Pakistan would still have 90% of its population and its coastline.

However if Balochistan goes, then Sindh is almost certain to separate after having seen both east Pakistan and Balochistan do the same.

          Will Pakistan break up?

          - An objective and logical analysis would suggest that Pakistan has overcome the worst of their almost decade-long period of turbulence.

          * TTP terrorism down massively.

          * Baloch insurgency very quiet.

However there is a deep feeling within me that this state will never be truly stable and successful, that it is cursed.

Though it may still exist as one entity it will, as like now, never be truly peaceful.

The Islamic scholars and saints (awliya) warned of the abomination that is Pakistan and it is this past decade more than any other which seems to be vindicating the truth of their statements.

This is my 2 cents, but as someone older, wiser and from there, the "federation of Pakistan", you will be more aware of the realities there than I would.
Bengal_Tiger you are spot on. A prominent Pashtun nationalist leader once told us that it was actually the West in particular the US and Britian that would actually hit non-Punjabis (Pashtuns, Baluchis, Sindhis, Pukhtuns, etc.) in Pakistan with the heavy blows but Punjabis would be used as a mask. To borrow his words, "the US would be the fist and Punjabis the glove" in the aggression against the marginal groups above.

Punjabis are in the habit of using a specific modus operandi i.e. during the Cold War they will blame the rest of the people e.g. Bengalis, Pashtuns, Baluchis raising voice for their rights for provoking communist revolutions to get approval and support for their action from US; and now they are using the terrorist card.

Here I will mention just one instance of that. In 1950s, Maulana Bashani who had socialist leanings participated in a socialist congregation in Berlin. Using that opportunity to hit Bengali nationalists who were agitating for their rights, Punjabis incited the anxieties of Americans about the danger of the spread of communist influences in East Pakistan and convinced them of the necessity of a military operation in East Pakistan to root out the problematic elements.

Americans approved the operation together with logistic and material support which Punjabis said was a necessary step to carry out the post-operation developmental and rehabilitation work (this is their way to convert such situations in money making projects).

Sikander Mirza was dispatched to East Pakistan to oversee that operation who being a British agent was a person of choice for Americans and British and American embassy monitored the operation. Interestingly, Sikander Mirza was in direct contact with American embassy through out the operation and constantly kept it informed about the progress made.

This has become a sort of profitable business for Punjabis. They benefit from it in many ways, e.g., they suppress the threat to Punjabi domination in Pakistan, they make easy money, get military and economic aid, gain international backing for their acts, many times favourable treatment in international trade policies, etc.

The emergence and expansion of Punjabi middle classes, e.g., represented by Hamayun Akhtar Khan, Nawaz Sharif, etc., is a result of this policy and strategy.

And there is no doubt in the fact that Americans are primarily responsible for what is happening to Pukhtuns. All the F-16s and other military aid has been given to them by US specifically for this purpose. Punjabis are making money, eliminating a potential adversary, and are kind of deriving sadistic psychological sense of power from the treatment of Pukhtuns in that way.

In this sense the feudal lord of the world and its lackey within Pakistan have the same psychology.

I dont understand why hate of this and other bengalis is only directed against punjabis but not against biharis. Bengalis in karachi have in fact joined hands with biharis, against Sindhis, pashtuns and others. It doesnt make any sense, as armed Bihari gangs of east pakistan were at the forefront, in killing and raping bengalis riding on the back of army. Bengalis gave biharis refuge and place to live in 1947, biharis disrespected and violated the hospitality of bengalis. And instead of siding with mazloom (bengalis), biharis sided with zalim army let alone staying neutral. These well-trained biharis, when migrated to pakistan after fall of dhaka, started a violent riot with sindhis in 1972 and 1986 riot with pashtuns was actually led by biharis among mohajirs.

Bengal-cat here , knowing very well that Afghans in west are ignorant of karachi and mohajirs, tell them that bechara Mohajir is also victim of punjabi and that mohajirs and others should join hands against punjab. He doesnt tell these westren pashtuns, that pashtun of karachi cut the body of mohajir with razors and put alfee in their ears and eyes.

i think biharis & other urdu speakers join Pakistan army in that war cuz they chose Pakistan over Bengali nationalism, same reason why Punjabi settlers support FC against Baloch rebels, or Pashtuns in Karachi cooperate with Rangers against MQM; they all have their reasons, today proud Bangladeshi like Bengal_Tiger keep non bengali refugees in concentration camps, he always speak about islam and unislamicness of punjabis but don't know his own country do such unislamic stuff and he supports it

                      Yes.

The Punjabis were loyal servants to the Anglo-saxons, and the Pashtuns were a severe headache.

So the Punjabis have been rewarded with the entity called "Pakistan".

Christine Fair is essentially a liar and propagandist selling a narrative that the American regime are victims of devious Punjabis, no the Punjabis are the attack dog of America in that part of south Asia.

We can lament at all the injustice of this all.

                      However what is the solution?

There seems to be a lack of solidarity amongst Pashtuns, a lack of unity.

Pashtuns are not really nationalistic (proud of their tribe, lineage yes but united for one agenda for the betterment of their nation/race, no), so if Pashtuns are bombed in FATA then the Shebaz Khan type "Pathans" could care less.

The Sindhi nationalists in contrast are regularly able to close the whole of rural Sindh when they are upset.

I really can't advocate a solution, but in the interim period whilst Pashtuns wait for freedom (most Pakistani Pashtuns wouldn't see the disintegration of Pakistan as "freedom" as most are pro-Pakistan) their language and culture must be maintained. All the great international works in the fields of literature, science, history, politics must be translated in to Pashto. Pashto must be a vibrant, strong living language.

What happens if "Pakistan" (land of the pure) continues?

                      - The Punjabi army have been entrusted by the US/UK to run Pakistan and to cause havoc in the region, so it seems as per the US agenda, Punjabis will always run Pakistan and thus the army.

                      - Pakistan has almost 200 million people and growing. Every day more and more migrants swell in to the urban megapolis that is Karachi, which is infested with guns, violence, killing, criminality, ethnic division and so forth.

                      - Pashtuns from the hinterland will also migrate not just to Karachi but also to the urban cities of Punjab.

Despite all the talk of "Pakistan zindabad", some Punjabi nationalists e.g. on the notorious hate-site defence.pk oppose the migration of Pakistani citizens from one part of Pakistan to another i.e. migration of Pashtuns to areas of Punjab like Rawalpindi.

However if Pashtun migration there continues the "Punjabi" character of such places will be diluted and Pashtuns being a more martial race will dominate the weaker Punjabis in many micro-interactions.

Pashtuns will be migrating to Punjab and not vice versa, as Pakhtunkhwa is not an industrialized region.

Sooner or later Pakistan will collapse as the ethnic divisions in the country are too great.

The only question is when and how.

There is so much more to add and discuss but that's all for now.

                        * TTP terrorism down massively.

                        * Baloch insurgency very quiet.

Bengal_Tiger, I agree on the Western approval of the indiscriminate and heavy-handed military operations against Pashtuns in which entire villages and livelihood of people is destroyed and millions are displayed. This is not to mention people neither rebelled against the state nor was the terrorism problem a problem of their making.

If any entity was responsible for all the mess in the region that was US and Pakistan who created all the groups to exploit the religious zealot-ism to fight a more sustained war against the USSR.

US is well aware how is the Punjabi army using all the weapons it is providing it. It is also very well aware of its tricks and deceptive methods. To give you an example I will mention a funny incidence that happened a few years back when the army sent a bill to US senate for disbursement of the the expenses on the war on terror. In it was included a hefty amount of few hundred millions dollars spend on the the tens of kilometres of barbed wire in Waziristan.

When that demand letter was audited, the authorities objected to the unrealistic nature of the project and the amount spent on it. They said they will like to check the project on the ground. Then the Pakistani side said the few zeroes were extraneous typed by mistake. Still Americans were not satisfied until the bill was reduced from a few hundred to just a few millions.

So you see how has the war on terror turned profitable for the army. Waziristan is like the Golden Goose that lays the egg.

This situation also suits Americans because the controlled instability on the borders give them the reason to maintain basis in the regions despite the reservations by Iran, China, Russia, and other Central Asian states. This is the use of the old theory that whoever controls Euroasia controls the world.

America at the core is a KKK empire and consider other people mere expendables that can be used at will to advance the destiny of the super-race.

On the Christine Fair I absolutely agree. Although I am not a religious person a fact that you know well but I have grown extremely extremely distrustful of anyone that come from the direction of the sun-sitting whether in the guise of academician or journalist or philanthropist. Most of the time they come to study your vulnerabilities, weaknesses, etc. to use in their future political plans and agenda.

Still I am not in favour of the dismantling or destabilization of any state or the region. As a follower of Bacha Khan I believe in peaceful political struggle. I will like that Pashtuns to both sides of the line entirely focus on their social and cultural development, education, and other form of capacity and skill building.

We have first hand seen the upheavals in ME and our own land and their disastrous impact. We don't want the continuation of it any more.

I am sure people like Christine Fair, if not read, are aware of what is said on Pashtun forums. A lot of people don't realize how successful Pashtun forums is, you can even ask Admin Khan about members of both the Afghan and Pakistani political elite that wrote to the site about certain issues.

She and others like her will be aware that there exists an opinion that she is nothing but a fraud.

A fraud because in her rants, the tone and content is very much one of the USA being a victim and completely unaware of what Pakistan (Punjabistan) is up to.

Nay, the USA is not a victim but the sponsor of all this terrorism and bloodshed.

                          - Yes, white westerners, no matter how urbane their exterior may be, generally believe in a human hierarchy with the white Germanic races at the top, other European races below and the black man at the very bottom and as you said non-whites are very much dispensable to these racists.

                          - As for the future of Pakhtuns within the federation of Pakistan, that is an internal decision for the Pashtun people and their decision alone and not that of outsiders like me.

From what I know most Pashtuns in Pakistan do want to see the "federation" work, partly because destroying/ending it is a destructive exercise with no guaranteed positive benefits after that is achieved.

One thing however to add is there was even speculation a while back (I saw on facebook elsewhere) that Pashtuns would ultimately become a majority in Karachi.

So from their central Asian Heimat (possibly in Paktia, Sulemain ranges etc) the Pashtun qawm has spread its wings to the very coast of Sindh and next to the Indian ocean.

So even preserving Pakistan has its many advantages for Pashtun nationalists.

As for the fate of Pakistan, it all depends on the the conduct of Punjabis as how they run their empire. If they could accommodate others and could be less greedy and rapacious and at the same could muster some sense of honour there might emerge a good situation in the region where communities could live and thrive together.

But the problem is with each passing day the elite of Punjab is becoming more rapacious and greedy and wants everything for itself. Example is the current Punjabi chauvinist Nawaz regime and the equally pro-Punjab General Raheel Sharif (satirically being called General Punjab Shareef). They are directing every developmental project to Punjab (or greater Punjab e.g. Kashmir) and all investment is being diverted to Punjab.

Shahbaz Sharif is paying visits to foreign countries as if he is trade and foreign investment minister. Investment conferences in foreign countries are focused on Punjab. In the forthcoming visit by the Chinese president almost all developmental projects that will be signed some worth 46 billion dollars are focused in Punjab. These include projects in infrastructure, metros, energy, special industrial zones, Pak-China economic corridor, etc. This is not to mention that Punjabis already constitute some 80% of military and 70% of civil bureaucracy besides dominating banking, finance, industry, etc.

It seems that Punjab wants to reduce other provinces to the status of beggars.

This is not and will not go unnoticed. Resentment in other communities is already on the rise. One fears that if situation continued like this, it will boil into something nasty that other powers may exploit.

And the national fabric of Pakistan is not very strong and every community has its grievances. I don't think Pakistan can stand any chance if some rebel group got hold of weapons like stingers to neutralize Pakistan's air power with. In guerilla warfare for example it cannot match Pashtuns who can muster a guerilla fighting force of a few hundred thousands. And then you have other resentful communities e.g. Baluchis, Sindhis, Mahajars, Gilgit Baltis, etc. There is also sectarian mess.

Unfortunately Punjabis don't realise this. They don't want to share. They want to grab.

Raheel Sharif or "Riyal $harif" looks like a typical arrogant Punjabi who will exploit non-Punjabis in the name of Pakistani nationalism.

I am not in Pakistan so I can't say what will happen if discontent from non-Punjabis builds up.

All I see is that they have total and complete control of the situation be it in Karachi, majority Mohajir city but "Pakistani" (Punjabi) authorities are in charge, Pashtun areas where they have made 3 million Pashtuns refugees but the majority of Pashtuns seem to be indifferent, and many are infatuated with the concept of Pakistan e.g Shebaz Khan type "Pathans".

I'm just glad that we were able to free ourselves from this failure of a country, and from the tyranny of the lying manipulative Punjabi army and elite 40 years ago and are now on a trajectory to have the second highest level of economic growth in the world in a few years.

I really don't see any hope of Sindh, Balochistan, Pakhtunkhwa gaining their freedom for some of the reasons I mentioned above, and the Americans clearly want the continuation of "Punjabistan".

It's only the Baloch really that have shown any major desire or capability of ridding themselves of Punjabi domination.
