Actually Sharia Law exists in the UAE but its only used among muslims and not non-muslims who are excluded from it according to its judicial system. This is according to Dubai/US consulate.

Sharia or Islamic courts work alongside the civil and criminal courts in the UAE. The Sharia court is the Islamic court in the UAE and is primarily responsible for civil matters between Muslims. Non-Muslims will not appear before a Sharia court in any matter.

Not even the proponents of Sharia want to live under such a system.

I would like to live in an 'Islamically" secular cooperative union. Which may seem like a contradiction in terms but it is not.

States in my belief, and we can debate this if you want, are always fundamentally intrusive over the wealth and labor of those it claims to govern over and there by oppressive. This is ANY state, secular or theocratic.

In a cooperative union; the constituents all unifiedly cooperate to reach common goals as a network WITHOUT state interference or exploitation. Those who seek not to participate can abdicate their role in the cooperative union. It would be secular since theocratic guidelines would not be the main reference for governing decisions, but it would be Islamic in that civil law, moral values and cultural framework would be centered around Islamic ideals.

For example while everyone would have free speech; the Cooperative Union allows Society itself to weed out By voting with their resources and not allocating resources towards means that sanction or safeguard unwanted ideas or practices. Things like loose sexual values, casual acceptance of homosexual lifestyles would be disparaged, homosexuals, while not persecuted will have a status as people with disorders and society will treat such people as those who suffer any imbalance or condition, alcohol and intoxicant substances will be prohibited, popular media will be siphoned to conform with the major moral concepts of Islam, but will not conform to foggy notions of virtue like whether women should wear hijab in public or not.
We will live under a full meritocracy; welfare only given to those who have proven beyond doubt incapable of providing for themselves. Other forms of assistance to given forward mobility for people who seek to improve their quality of life will be available through the cooperative. Revenue will be completely voluntary but not contributing will abdicate access to the benefits of the collective. All labor and its benefits will go directly to the producers.

Coercive punishments in Shari'ah like death penalty or flogging will be abandoned; Governing will be done through direct referrendum.

Full Blown Ravage for the fist time in history you have talked sensibly. Secularism is the answer coupled of course with cultural Islam. The gravest threat to us in Muslim countries is the Salafist and Akhwani (Muslim Brotherhood) evil (of which BarakZaiAbdali is one mouthpiece here apart from Kaish).

                    Reformer, ay?

No riba, or usury. i don't care about the positives it brings. Allah and his prophet detailed the punishments of riba practicioners.

alcohol and drugs should be sold away from communities. But there is no "death penalty" prescribed, so no ban on that.

No prisons. a thief will get his hands cut off. given medication and get the wound stitched.

Murderers will have to pay the deceased family blood money. and hard lashes.

                    rapist will get executed.

Adulterers who get caught cheating on their spouses will get executed after a fair trail. Fornicators will receive lashes. but if repeat the lashes will be harder.

                    Mandatory zakat from able-bodied citizens.

Adhaan 5 times a day. no one can force anyone to pray. its up to the individuals. there is no punishment for missing a prayer her or there.

Arabic and English curriculum for all students from pre-k to universities.

Mandatory military and combat training for young adults (both male and female) from the ages 16-18, as an elective to graduate high school. Then from 18-23, you continue training and studying at the university. This builds brother and sisterhood. And they will be studying at the same time.

just a few examples of how i would be running it.

I'm not saying that secularism is the answer but a very particular type of secularism would be adequate for Muslims.

Not all forms of secularism have been prosperous; Surely the Communist regimes that tried to pave way for their Soviet Czarist expansion, turned around and stabbed the citizens of Afghanistan in the back. But it'd be dishonest for me to say that the Theocratic "Mujahidin" didn't end up doing the same, because clearly they did.

The truth is the answer is neither secularism or Islamic Shari'ah; but MAYBE it is somewhere in the Middle, I just conveyed one possible version where Islamic Values can meet with secular principles. Without the trappings of a "state".

I actually would say I think there are valid critiques against Ribaa/Usury and interest banking. Without seeming like I'm merely touting an ideological bent on things. I feel that Usury in the modern context is a product of Federal/State banking procedures, making fiat money without solid tender to back it. It's why debt inflates so quickly. I think there could be a place for an Islamic approach to finance, but it needs a more sophisticated understanding.

Killing very rarely solves crime and if there's death penalty for rapists; there's a chance that murders will icrease as well, which is not what we want.

Killing for adultery only makes adultery more clandestine and thereby more dangerous. Prevention is a better focus than penalty.

we need RESULTS based decisions not IDEOLOGY based decisions.

I think Arabic could become an International/Commercial Language which we can use to communicate between other countries, But that isn't a priority

coming from a finance background, this issue could be discussed and would like to expand on this topic more

also open for this. But i see no point of lengthy prison time. America's system is a good example of why it really isn't that good.

obviously a fair trial will be held. more research will be done with this

it should be because now Muslims from all over can understand the beauty of the verses of the Qu'ran like it was meant to be. not translations
That was just a first draft rundown.

classes would teach the sciences, math, communications/public speaking, business/economics/finance and history,
