  • Durand line

I don't know if this topic have been discussed before, but out of sheer curiosity; do you think that the Afghan government should accept the Durand line?

And don't give me a worthless answer like yes or no. For me it is not the answer itself that is important, but rather the thought behind it. So write the reason why it should or should not be accepted.
Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

People with identity crisis will be ignored as well.

I think they should. I mean lets be honest its been 70 years and we now have 2/3 generations of Pashtuns who have gone through the Pakistani education system and come out as loyal pathans, they would never accept Afghanistan as their country (unless Afghanistan suddenly became rich which wont happen).

Durand line or border is already accepted by Afghanistan at least tacitly and in practical terms if not historically or legally.

I see check points of immigration, border security force and all other signs of any international borders on Durand line. Also I don't know if Afghanistan has ever taken Durand line issue on any international forum including UN.

Durand line should never be accepted, it will be the end of Pashtun nationalism, further Pashtun Nationalist will feel betrayed and Afghanistan can loose a big chunk of leverage it now enjoy over Pakistan. accepting it will fuel insurgency as taliban will add it to propaganda checklist. it will be a political suicide for Afghanistan.

No. Greater solidarity and cooperation between Pashtuns is needed now more than ever. Official recognition of the DL is inimical to that goal. It'll only embolden our enemies.

As long as refugee Afghans are deported back to other side of durrand line, it does not matter. You can't hate host country while being illegal/refugee at the same time. Now even good Afghans are forced to sell their businesses for peanutes, or transfer properties to Pakistani relatives. And lets be honest, one never knows when your relative decide to stab you in the back.

why use word like "pathan" to reduce their pashtooniyat?

and it is not true all are loyal or that going throgh pakistan school system makes one loyal, it's same school system that produce hamid mir and shakil afridi, same school system which produced najam sethi and altaf hussain, getting educated in a country don't make u more loyal or brainwash, ppl aren't so fickle but i wish what you are saying is true.

In Gujrat Afghanis are good people. They are not known for kidnappings, drugs or other crimes. But its clear this is not the case everywhere and something most be done.

I don't know why they say that honestly, some kammi fake pashtun was even questioning if Niazis are pashtuns or not. Especially when same people brag about conquered lands by ancestors of "pathans".

A pathan is an integrated Pashtun, no insult there ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

but you're implying that pashtuns who are integrated in pakistan are "lesser pashtuns" hence "pathan", it's said in a condescending way from what i've noticed

Pathan is indic or desi word, Hindus came up with it. Pakistanis of Punjab and Sindh use it because their ancestors were Hindus.Whenever they use it instead of word Pashtun, it reminds of their Hindu lineage and retaining of some Hindu-ish traits and customs. A Pashtuns who gets desi-fied and Hindi-fied , deserve to be called a Pathan, not Pashtun or Afghan..........The Pashtun-ness of a "Pathan" weighs as much as that of Saulat Mirza yusufzai of MQM or Irfan Pathan of Indian cricket team.

Saulat mirza is pathan, and lots of real/pashto speaking pathans marry muhajir pathans in cities because of belonging to pathan family.
