Wait...wasn't there diff class in good ole Soviet Union? ---Soviet apparatchik—driving big cars and enjoying the state luxuries- and common Russian people—waiting 2 hours to get a loaf of bread.Originally posted by Toramana View PostI 200% agree with happy khan and khostai. Islamism is a curse that should have been erased a long time ago for society to progress and modernize not just in material sense but also in the sense of attitude.
Religion creates distinction between humans and creates the class-based society where the dominant religious group is at the top and the rest low-ranking citizens. This is unacceptable.

Secularism does not mean atheism.
It only means have no religion on a state level
A country like Canada is a good example of it, where so many muslims themselves love to migrate too
Muslim world definatly needs something like this, but I know it wont happen, because much of the muslim world is 1000 year behind

In reality, the middle east and Europe are different societies. What works in one does not mean its going to work in the other. Even America itself who are mostly Europeans are much different from Europeans. Religion beliefs has been under attack in Europe far centuries, one of the reasons people migrated from Europe to America was to escape persecution for their religious beliefs. America is much more conservative than Europeans and people organize very quickly when they feel their religious beliefs are under attack.Originally posted by Karachi View PostSecularism does not mean atheism.

Secularism comes usually during more prosperous times under long term peace. People usually turn back to their religious beliefs in times of turmoil. Its like when people group themselves under historical alliances and commonality when under attack as a defensive tactic for survival. In Today's chaotic Middle Eastern environment, secularism is going to take a back seat.

True. In Islam there is no room for "bidah", or innovation. Except when it comes to copying western technology and science.Originally posted by Karachi View PostSecularism does not mean atheism.

The Muslim world may progress beyond the year 600, but fundamentalists will always see to it that we return to Sharia.
- Jihad against communism in Afghanistan, 1979. Result: Afghanistan became an Islamic State, Islamic Republic, Islamic Emirate, and now back to Islamic Republic.
- The same year, Islamic revolution in Iran to remove a leader who wanted to modernize and westernize his country. Result: Iran is an Islamic Republic.
- Currently the civil war in Iraq and Syria, to liberate the Sunnis from mushrik Shia oppression. Result: the restoration of the caliphate.Last edited by Al-Afghani; 03-31-2015, 05:31 PM.
