Access to banks and loans in the agriculture sector has improved considerably for Afghan women, a development that offers them economic opportunities. With the help of Afghanistan’s Agricultural Development Fund, a financial institution owned by the Afghan Government and supported by the United States, women now have access to financial services and small business loans. These types of loans not only allow women farmers to market their products to local and international markets, but it is also an effective way to stimulate economic development and increase agricultural entrepreneurship to support the next generation of farmers.
