Oh, okay. I could care less, though. My issue is with describing a journalist or news anchor as being a "showbiz girl." I think that's ridiculous.

And honestly, I don't like Imran Khan either, but my criticism is of his policies, not who he marries or whatever else he chooses to do in his private life.

Once he assumes a public role i.e. here that of a politician, then his private life matters. That is because as a legislature he will potentially be involved in law-making that will have to confirm to the moral standards and values of the society. That is why private lives of politicians and others tasked with managing the affairs of the society are subject to harsher public scrutiny.

Well, that would only be an issue if you believe that governments and leaders should enact moral or religious legislation. Then one could make an argument regarding a politician's private life (who he marries, whether he is religious or not, etc.). If you're secular, though, what an elected official does privately shouldn't matter, unless it's illegal. It's policy that one should criticize.
