  • USAID Supports Quality Of Basic Education

Afghanistan’s education sector was among many other sectors that were devastated by decades of war. Since 2001 the Afghan government, USAID, and international donors have worked closely to rebuild Afghanistan’s education sector.
A strong education system that includes professional teachers, high-quality learning materials and methodologies is essential to Afghan economic growth, democratic development, and stability.
Afghanistan has one of the youngest populations in the world, making quality education for rapidly growing numbers of school-aged boys and girls a top national priority.
What are some of the challenges that students and teachers face in Afghanistan today?

    Very Respectfully,

    Hashmat

This what international donors should focus on. We need books not bullets.

Pashto and Dari should be promoted as medium of instruction but English must be taught as the second language.

Steps should be taken to secularize the educational system gradually. Along with Muslim and Arab personalities like Muhamamd, Omar, Ali, Avicenna, Khushal Khan, Ahmad Shah etc non Muslim personalities like Plato, Aristotle, Jesus Christ, Buddha, Ashok, Nietzsche, Freud , Osho , Karl marx, Adam Smith, Newton etc may also be introduced to the students.

Creativity must be encouraged instead of learning by rote. Cheating in examinations must be totally banned. Students must be encouraged to take in practical side of Science education. Technical education need priority.
