And how is it possible that such corrupt leaders can take power and lead those common Pashtuns to this extremism? Aren't those leaders the product of the Pahstun culture?

I don't think like this, every nation face such situation and go through such circumstances the way we are going through for the last 30 years.
but what is the difference between other people and us. The difference is that other nations' leaders find out some solution to their problems and take their nation on the way to progress. at the other hand our leaders and masharaan are doing nothing.
These corrupt leaders are not chosen by common Pashtuns but they are imported or selected by outsiders, they don't represent the common Pashtuns and that is why we have problems unending.

I wish it was not true, but it is, everyone who has visited Pashtun regions be it in Afghanistan or Pakistan, or have lived there, knows that extremism is really deep rooted in our culture. Afghanistan tryed to modernise a couple of times, but failed, actualy now it also trys to catch up and modernise but the progress is really slow and quite painfull, and the bigest reason is our own mindset that is shaped by our culture. Our culture and relligion tell us that we have the truth and every foreign idea or concept is corrupting us, we don't really compromise or incorporate outside developments to benefit ourself, like what East Asians do (Japan, China and South Korea) and we also don't make any inovations in our culture becuase that is also considered corruption.

Foreign medling is not only limited to Pashtuns, every nations is influenced and manipulated by today superpowers, no nation on earth is independent, but I don't see them as extreme and backward as Pashtuns are.....

I think if we realise this as soon as possible we can make real progress and develope and get rid of those corrupt leaders that you mentioned.

Well, what you call extremism is actually conservatism. We Pashtuns have been living as a tribal society. Pashtuns have one thing in common all over the world where ever you go that Pashtuns don't want to take orders or in other words, you can't give orders to a pashtun if he is not willing. He will never abide it even if he has to die. But at the other hand, we are not in full command too. This type of situation has left us into a very confusing state of mind. This state of mind has made us rigid and weak.
When we will have the freedom to think and the authority to decide for ourselves, no wonder we will be on the way to progress and prosperity and the extremism that you are talking about will vanish.
No human being is by birth Pashtun, punjabi, jew, christian, hindu etc but it is our environment and our education that make us what i mentioned.

The modrenise pashtun do,nt feel easy in pashtun region .Many left.
Whoever wants some change they call him ,,begerat and be-pashtu.
Pashtuns today are suffering from arabization,indainization and parsiwanization.
The real pashtun culture is based on respect and equality.
We should keep our eastren values and culture.
Any positive change is welcome .

At present west and pakistan both funding and training terrorists.
These extremists serve the interests of westreners and pakistan.
Pashtun region is like sandwich.
Pakistan wants to keep them under control in the name of islam to be used in kashmir,against india etc.
So extremist pashtun is good for pakistan.
West want violence in this region to control the main ruite of central asia and block China .
Pakistan and US fighting this war on pashtun soil .
All of the above we are good in blame game.We are good in critisizing eacother.We ARE SIMPLE and people can use us and dump us the next day.We serve the interests of others but never focus on our own issues.
We need to act and find a salution.

Yes and that environmnet is dependent on ourselfs, we are the only ones who can hange it. But we don't do that. Its our own fault.

We need to speak up and say what we really think and stop hiding behind fear of being rejected out of society. I know many PAshtuns who want to modernise but they don't have any leaders or strong figures that they can relay one, they can not organise themself, and this has led too, that the dum besewad and extremist people have taken over control. Our regions are ruled by people who can barely think.

That is the problem, you are talking about secularism but first you have to define secularism, secularism of America, secularism of France, secularism of England, secularism of India, secularism of Afghanistan ? what type of secularism are you talking about ?
you are trying a very unacceptable system on Pashtuns. Its like you tell Belgium or Denmark to christianize their countries.
You want to paint all the world with the western borne system which is not acceptable to us. You want us to become like them.
No, it is not possible, we are we and they are they.
We will not and we don't want to become like them. We have our own identity and we want to live with it, we should improve ourselves and our society in our own system and limits. We should not import some western system.
