    More Post Zarb-Azb Disaster:

Despite the propaganda, here is the reality:

    http://www.dawn.com/news/1121500

They had left their homes to secure their life but are still unsafe. The lone camp set up by the government for internally displaced persons (IDPs) is infested with deadly black scorpions, an official said on Thursday.

And here is more evidence of the fact that they could care less about the suffering of the Pashtuns of Waziristan despite claiming that this operation was to "free the FATA people" from suffering.

Kamil Ali Agha, a member of the committee, told Dawn that they expressed reservations over reports based on assumptions. No specific data was available about the IDPs living in school buildings and those staying with their relatives and in rented houses, he added
He said only a few dozen of around one million IDPs were living in a single camp and it was a proof that the federal and provincial departments concerned had failed to make proper arrangements for them. Other members of the committee endorsed his view.

Finally, it is to be expected that when an influx occurs into an already devoid of resources area, that the locals and the displaced may end up clashing over scarce resources. The picture being painted here is that it is all one big "hug fest" and that each and every tribesman and his family are being given a warm and cuddly reception and place to stay. The reality?:

Senator Baz Mohammad Khan said the situation was tense in Bannu where clashes between IDPs and locals had become a routine.

But the blame does not lie with the resource-strapped locals, rather it is squarely with the Pakistani government and military for fomenting this situation and setting it up to occur in the first place.

And in a big blow to their prestige, the Pak Military had to admit that they had released a false statement:

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/...0FT17O20140724

Security officials said on July 15 the military had captured Adnan Rashid, who was accused of trying to kill Musharraf in a 2003 bomb attack and who later escaped from jail, in the South Waziristan region near the Afghan border.

Later, various other security officials said it was not Rashid who had been captured but an important al Qaeda bomb-maker and trainer.
"A high-value target has indeed been arrested but it is not Adnan Rashid," one of the officials told Reuters. "There was a mix-up."

@Da Bannu Mazdigar is a bit naive, and hopefully after some education and self-study, he will be able to critically think and analyze for himself, as opposed to relying on ISPR for everything. I suppose now he will say that "All armies lie, Pakistan can lie as well".

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

It will not just be Waziristan my friend, look at what reliable reporters like Rahimullah Yusufzai are saying about what is going on, contrary to what the pro military crowd here is saying:

                http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/27/wo...l?src=twr&_r=0

On a poignant reminiscent note, I recall one of the impacts the displacement of our people had was that our own sense of history was affected.

I remember that the generation of Afghan IDPs I interacted with in the 1980s could recite their proud lineages going back generations. You could meet a Pashtun who would write out or recite his shajaraat to you from the memory his father and grandfather passed on to him. The youngsters I saw years later in Jalozai and Kacha Gerai on a medical trip had no inkling or idea of this, though all was not lost.

I saw that phenomena amongst the Wazirs I visited... to this day their father's generation of Wazirs can recite their lineage through the Zalikhel and Malik saleh and so on and so forth all the way back to their ancestor named Wazir.

If this displacement process uproots them from their lands (which are organized as they were in Kandahar where your relatives' lands abut your own) or the military claiming their lands under the guise of eminent domain then a natural shajaraat of sorts will be erased. One of them told me he and his kinsmen could identify their family, clan, subtribe and larger tribesmen based solely on land placement.

On the other hand, Afghanistan can benefit from this by permitting the Wazirs and Mehsuds to settle in the ancestoral lands Amanullah Khan granted to them for supporting him.

One elder told me, when I asked him why they allowed themselves to be apart of Pakistan that it was probably just the status quo and that their dry nuts and dried fruits and other marketable products found their way to Islamabad amongst other places. If the gradient were reversed where these economic links were made to Kabul or elsewhere, then the natural pressures might be different - especially now that the Wazirs and Mahsuds have had clear demonstrations of how they are viewed as nothing more than expendable.

Thanks for the share. Poignant indeed. But the Wazirs are just now being displaced in such a mass and Afghans to this date, even the likes of me or you who have been brought up outside Afghanistan have strong sense of our background and native social belonging etc. I believe the Wazirs and Quetawals to be similar to us Afghan Pashtuns in this respect. Will they return back to their lands do you think?

Rahimullah Yousufzai is another uncle tom and a servile Pathan but only occasionally he speaks his conscious. My opinion.

Mashallah their brethren on the bar side of the Durand (generally normal people and business men) rushed to deliver food, shelter etc. in the first days. The Afghan govt. also pledged assistance. I wonder if there has been any reponse from international agencies like the UNHCR etc. to date.

One wonders at the dismal state of Paki government planning for IDP etc. as you have repeatedly brought to light for it to be deliberate and actually to disrupt the social fabric of Waziristan and also as part of a social engineering. What would you say?

I think its just a show for the world to keep the money going. I doubt that these folks but that much deliberation into social engineering, otherwise their manner of dealing with FATA and the Baloch would have been far more intelligent. Multiple pressures (international) and local (the ruling elite and settle area folks) were probably mounting and NW was the sacrificial lamb.
