Pashtuns Under Fire of Islam - *Must Read*

I have no problem with Islam as a religion but as Islamism yes. Suggesting that Pashtuns should now shun Islam is a fantasy but asking them to shun Islmaism is a practicable goal as Islamism is a recent phenonomen an dcan be uprooted easily by democracy and modern education. I agree that Islamism has done havoc to Pashtuns.

Terrorism has been concentrated in Pashtun areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan, besides the Terrorism in Iraq, Srilanka, Colombia and few other places in the world. Pashtun areas present the worst scene. In Afghanistan 100 % suicide bombers and fighters against the Afghan and other forces are Pashtuns. In Pakistan they are almost 80%. Majority are Pashtun boys and girls too.

Why this is so? Its mostly because of the lethal combination of Pashtunwali and Wahabi Deobandi extremist Islam. Two fires have been merged into a gigantic flame.

Pashtuns being sincere , simple, independent minded people and Wahabi teachings of promulgation of sharia without state make a very dangrious mixture and threat to Afghanistan, Pakistan and the world at large.

I know that Terrorism is a multidiemnsional phenomenon. The lethal combination of Pashtunwali and extremist Islam is the major cause of terrorism -not the only cause but it is a major cause. To get rid of terrorism and extremism , we have to extirpate Islamism.

I have no problem with Islam too - as long as it's in Arab lands - not our land. Pashtuns and other Aryas are capable of removing Islam from their soil and from their peoples minds - it's possible in many ways and we will achieve it.

This is where i disagree with nationalists... Lets not be too extreme in either directions... Islam is what has organized us... But we should use our rational mind while following it.. Trust me.. Lack of religion would only make us less civilized.. Rather than more.

Islam isn't a arab religion. Remember Arabs of the time hated Islam at the beginning because it was going against their culture. Also there are Hadiths that speak negativity of the bedouin arab culture. So clearly Islam can't be from arab culture

I hope we don't lose stragglers as this thread leads readers in journey through ancient history along a convoluted path weaving through religions and cultures.

Also, I don't know how mankind can extricate itself from language, culture, religion, science. Look at Muslims outside Arabistan selectively borrowing some Arabic cultural norms and not others when following Islam.
