Like Assef clearly sais "Afghanistan is the land of the Pashtuns, we are the true Afghans".
In history, it is alleged that Pashtun rulers tried to colonize Tajik and Hazara lands with Pashtuns. IE abdur Rahman Khan moving Ghilzais to north Afghanistan by force. Pashtun nationalists claim that northern Afghanistan had a pashtun presence but were pushed south by the Mongol Invasion.
Assef joins the Taliban..... which the Taliban go's againts Pashtunistan cause Pakistan supports the Taliban..Assef fights communists though communists promised to make "Afghanistan is the land of the Pashtuns". Khaled Hosseini is a double dealing author, i wanna pay him a personal visit......
Assef has so much hate on Hazaras (though no mention on anti-tajik)..., but what happens if he knew about the Durrand Line, and how would Assef react if he came accross Pakistani Pashtuns and Punjabi muslims....
Why doesn't Khaled Hosseini include these details in the Kite Runner
