As we know super-powers always create armies and structures in countries that they want to control and that maintain peace and order in those countries and the surrounding regions they don't directly want to police. This is especially true of the powers of the 19th and 20th-21st centuries who have preferred to destroy indigenous political and administrative structures and replace them with structures and classes that fundamentally serve their interests and are loyal to them.
Pakistan Army is an example. Basically, it was army of the Indian British Raj recruited for mercenary work. It was also used against the native people to suppress any possibility of rebellion in them against the British colonialists. Together with this the British created bureaucracies and other elite classes that primarily were loyal to them and did their bidding in the international power politics after British left.
Now a days Pakistan Army is carrying out an operation ostensibly named zarb-e-azb an Islamist title but basically is a mercenary work being done with American money.
Would Afghan Army also evolve into a such an army? Would it be more loyal to its own people than to those that fund it?
