There is no need of such a Fatwa. Brelvi Mullahs declare this jihad while Deobandis declare the Jihad of Taliban.

It is a pure army action against terrorists. A professional venture, nothing to do with jihad or no jihad. Quran talks of Jihad but at the time of Muhamamd, not now. There is no central authority or caliphate of Muslims who will declare jihad against one or the other.

After the death of Hazrat Muhammad, we see wars of Hazrat Ali with Hazrat Ayesha, Muawaya with Ali, Yazeed with Husain, Abbasids with Umayayds and so on. To which one you will call jihad. That of Ali or Ayesha?

as i know you can correct there is total another concept of jihad!
big and small one
the big one is the most important! it's a fight with yourself against bad thought and behaviour, it's a fight inside you against the bad jin
if you have won this fight you can be an example for kafirs and lead a small jihad
the small jihad is to be a good example for the kafir after you have won the big jihad

Yes there is the concept of Jihad e akbar(spiritual) and jihad e asghar(qital, holy war). The holy war concept was limited to the time period of the prophet Muhammad while the spiritual jihad or struggle with nafs(self) is now valid.

As there is no one state of Muslims and jihad bi saif(sword) can only be declared by a state, thus it not possible in today's world where we have like 58 Muslim states. Otherwise each state will declare war(qital/jihad) against the other one. The prophet Muhamamd did not resort to war when he was in Mecca. He did it once he established the state in Madinah.

as i know the concept holy war was taken from christianity to describe the jihad concept but it doesnt even fit
well people look foe a easy way to explain different concepts
