Corruption was and still is rampant among government officials - the good is that america will still keep the flow of money coming in except this time some panjsheris (among other members of karzai's administration) won't be able to mismanage the use of such funds.

His green movement isn't so bad.

Maliki started the sectarian policies in Iraq and now he has lost control. The NA with salah implemented Tajik nationalistic and fascist policies and they will meet the same result as Maliki. Americans are leaving and time is running out for them.

these people are all dumbos, they are repeating Shah Shuja policies. When Shuja was brought to Kabul on the back of British soldiers, his first policy was to exact revenge just like Salah and Maliki(who as soon as the US soldiers left put a bounty on the Sunni Vice Presidents head) and we all know what happened to Shuja.

The situation in iraq and afghanistan is quite different. In iraq it has more to do with shia****s being as deceptive and two faced as they've always been. In afghanistan the situation is a lot different.

What are you talking about. the guy does not even have a high school education, he was a translator.

The guy understands nothing, all he does is blame his failure on Pakistan. Its like back in 2001, when company CEOs were criticized for bad policies for their companies, they started blaming everything on 911. Some coffee shop that failed in Florida, the owner would blame it on 911.

The blame goes to them. If Paksitan succeeded in creating an unstable afghansitan, then it is because they failed to bring forth policies that could unite the afghans. Unifiers are smart and understand geopolitics, stupid people are dividers and implement policies that divide people and create chaos. Salah is the latter.

Its the same. In Iraq, its Sunni vs Shia with the former as traditional rulers and in Afghanistan, its Pashtun vs Tajik/Hazara with the former as traditional rulers.

Both were invaded by the same foreign force and installed untraditional rulers who are more loyal to Iran.

Tajiks, especially the religious ones are not loyal to iran, not the ones in real life considering iranians look down on any sort of afghan. Also, the lands of afghanistan have been under foreign rule longer than pashtun rule whether by the persians via satraps, greeks, arabs, or mongols/mughals.

The parallels you draw between iraq/afghanistan are weak.

I think this sham election is going to be disputed between Abdullah and Ghani, and Karzai will remain president for several more months.

The Taliban, like most other pashtun movements, have a reputation of being pro-Pakistan. This is something they built and upheld throughout the past 40 years or so. Saleh's views are not from another planet but based on ground realities.

The most anti Paksitan policy devised was The pashtunistan policy which was the brainchild of Zahir Shah and Daud(both Pashtun.)

Back in the 70's Masoud was an ISI asset against Daud until he made agreements with the Soviets and Indians to attack Hekmatyar fighters.

He did not care about ideology of progression, he was like Pakistan who also does not care about ideology or progression, they both implemented a servitude policy and just wanted to survive.
Barackzai has a wonderful piece on such a strategy.

Nothing you state is based on ground realities but an agenda driven narrative that is false.

Both Abdullah Abdullah and Ghani are seeking better ties with Pakistan. Pakistan will not matter after the US withdrawal

Pakistan has given NATO supply lines to US/NATO since the conflict began in 2001. The whole war is made possible by Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Pakistan permitted US drone strikes have targeted both Afghan and Pakistan insurgencies.

Pakistan arrested several Taliban, and handed them to the US (Zaeef, Khairkhwa, etc.). Pakistan has assassinated Taliban who open up communication channels with Karzai.

The US-Taliban prisoner exchange and the talks were done in secrecy without Pakistan knowledge. Since the Taliban opened up a consulate in Qatar, Pakistan has no ability to oversee the goings on in Qatar. Thats the power of Qatari wealth. Pakistan is facing financial/military disaster after the US withdrawal.
