  • Pakistani gunship helicopters attack Dangam district in Kunar

According to reports, the Pakistani military gunship helicopters attacked eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan early Saturday morning.
The airstrike was carried out around 5:00 am local time in Dangam district, local officials said.

Provincial governor Shuja-ul-Mulk Jalala said at least four civilians were killed and eleven others were injured following the airstrike.

Mr. Jalala further added that the issue was shared with President Hamid Karzai.

In the meantime, Pakistani army officers have said Pakistani forces backed by helicopter gunships have killed at least 14 in a clash near the Afghan border in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region.

The officers further added that a group of insurgents sneaked into Pakistan on Saturday and attacked a military checkpoint.

According to the Pakistani officers, at least one soldier was killed and two others were injured following the attack

Pakistan side report a different story

Bajaur check post attack: One official dead, two injured

BAJAUR: Militants from across the border attacked a check post of the Pakistan Army in Bajaur, killing one official and injuring two others, Express News reported on Saturday.
Military sources said that the Pakistan Army retaliated and as a result, 16 militants were killed.

“Up to 200 Taliban militants from across the border attacked a group of Pakistani posts and at least 14 militants were killed in the fierce fighting,” a senior military official told AFP.

According to sources, the attack took place at 5:15am on Saturday.
“One soldier embraced martyrdom and two others were wounded critically,” the official said. The two injured security officials were sent to a hospital while a search operation had been started in the area.

“The militants from Tehreek-e-Taliban Bajaur and Swat chapters had regrouped in Ghund village of Afghanistan and launched the attack from there,” the official said.
Another military official confirmed the attack and casualties, which could not be verified independently.

Gunship helicopters also took part in the retaliatory action, military officials further said.
Bajaur agency shares a border with the Afghan province of Kunnar, where such attacks are frequent. The Pakistani foreign office has protested in the past and have raised the issue with Afghanistan. On Saturday the posts in Kaga Pass and Manoo Jangle areas were once again attacked by militants.

The forces have beefed up security in the agency after these attacks and have started Jirgas with tribal leaders

The Pak-Afghan border is becoming a mess.

Instead of the govt official,The military official should form a direct contact to solve the problem.

Or may be Pakistan is doing so to force afghanistan aswell on fencing the border?

Didn't Raheel Sharif visit Kabul a few weeks ago? Might explain this attack.

It seems like raheel sharif is not a polite general as believed by many.

His strategy is simple "attack the attacker and think later".

I am afraid he might even take over nawaz sharif.

Actually Pakistan still deny that it has chased the militants into Afghanistan.

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Can you name one that Pakistan has ever killed? US army has killed more leaders, treasurers and strategists in Pakistan than they have.

I believe there is no general in the Pakistan army that knows what they're doing. They are all fat and Akward looking for a position like that.

It is because the Pakistan army except for the last few months, never bombed North waziristan. And majority of the leaders were in North waziristan.you know Pakistan army still has zia era officer having love for terrorists.

We do know the drone strikes happen with either the Govt or armed force's agreement while for public consumption the govt fool the people by requesting America to stop them.

I am looking forward for Joint PA-ANA ventures against terrorists in the border region.

Because "A good taliban is a dead taliban".

Afghan Taliban are the righteous people of Afghanistan. Do not confuse them for the hindu tajik ttp khassis.

ANA is a harami organization, and Pakistan army will purge those ex-soviet ****ers of their lives.

ANA consists of the bachaybaaz, gamblers, dalal, alcohol drinking ****ers that would sell their own mother for power.

ANA will hopefully meet it's doom soon. Inshallah.

And what the hell does the Paki army or ISI consist of? nothing more then a bunch of Children killing, women raping, and bombing losers who have no remorse for muslim life. Paki army bombs kunar and waziristan on a daily basis, and you think the ANA is bad?

No offence but your covering up the crimes of the paki army by blatantly picking on the ANA.

To be fair, the Pakistani army has caused much greater destruction to Pashtuns than the ANA. Afghanistan doesn't have a policy of collective punishment.

This picture reminds me of the Soviet war, but it actually happened a week ago in Waziristan.
