I doubt that,Originally posted by Saeed Khan View PostLetting these jurnos is dangerous for strategy, weapon power, locality and many other things of Taliban. Most of these jurnos are informers and spies and can workout with military and pin point the locality or hideouts of Taliban.
As long as they don't show their faces.
Because, when they arrange meetings with journalists, they plan that ahead of times (weeks, months) etc.
Also, they don't meet them at their head quarters etc (not to mention, insurgents hardly have one ground base)
There is no such thing as "pin point locality of the taliban" because these insurgents pose as insurgents when their is a need. They don't walk around the country with a banner saying we're rebels.
The real Jasosan (mokhberan) are the one's they should watch out for, and most of those jasosan are within their ranks or tribes.

I appreciate your analysis. But it lacks very points. First of all showing of face may not be necessarily a hitting point. They arrange their meeting in an advance period also not killing their purpose so far at the end they meet. Talibans dont have permanant base or so is a first requisite of a successful strategy as an insurgency but at the end you having certain points where you can be contacted and knocked out. To meet all such purposes military require informations. And these journalist are set to meet for collection of such information at grassroot level and carried that information back with them to the regional command. To do this job jurnos remain the finest option where military seem itself clueless.

when was the last time they (skynews/journalists) interviewed someone that ended up dying next month/week/day etc.?
This is nothing new....
no need to associate ALL journalists with spies, ( real deal, when it comes to missing and adding points)

Well, who knows which interview lead them where or what outcome they achieve from that. It can be successful and can be failure to them. After more than 9 years, they have not achieved substantial results may be because of little access through jurnos. After spending billions they admit of their cluelessness. when you come to know your fault, surely make a strategy to rectify or avoid it. If they are fail despit spending of billions on intel gathering operations, can take them to turn to give a renewd call to used and succesfull strategy. This is the reason many renownd figures remain out of media access.Originally posted by Zarawar View Postand what are your points?
