NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Sunday promoting ideas of great Pashto poet Khushal Khan Khattak about patriotism, unity and humanity was the need of the hour.
He was speaking as a chief guest at the Jashn-e-Khushal arranged under the aegis of Khushal Adabi Jirga in Akora Khattak. Pervez Khattak said the elimination of corruption was the first aim of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government, adding success had been achieved towards that end up to a great extent.
He asked the people present in the jam-packed hall if they felt any change in government departments. The audience responded in the affirmative with a loud yes. He said he needed support from people to implement the PTI agenda.
“Corruption is a big enemy of the nation that had weakened our motherland,” he added. He said Pakistan could only be developed by ensuring justice and removing the sense of deprivation prevailing among people in all provinces. “The PTI government will ensure supremacy of justice and merit,” he pledged.
Pointing to some of the reforms introduced by the PTI-led government, Pervez Khattak said English had been made medium of instruction in KP as it is an international language and a tool for success.
Responding to the demands made in the address of welcome, he termed them genuine and issued orders accordingly. The demands included raising annual grant of the Khushal Adabi Jirga from 100,000 to 500,000 rupees, early repair of the mausoleum and library of Khushal Khan Khattak, establishment of Khushal Research Cell, jirga office at the mausoleum and a number of development schemes in the area.
The chief minister said Akora Khatak was the land of poets and talented people, promising he would leave no stone unturned to develop it. Earlier, a large number of poets recited verses to pay tributes to the great poet-warrior.
Amazing!
Someone from the Pakistani nationalist PTI using Khushal Khan Khattak to promote his political agenda.
He (Pervez Khattak) is however a Khattak at least.
