The video shows how VERY cruel behavior has been taking place. It's one thing to read about it and another to see the suppression in action. Tragic.

What business is it of anybody else's if a woman wants to wear a nice and modest hijab?

Notice how this campaign has suddenly escalated in the past month or two with this country and that country passing laws?

One is supposed to believe European and other countries are paragons of "Freedom" ? Yeah, sure.

It is tragic, however, it is the constitution of Turkey, correct? And people should follow it, correct?
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

Pakistan Constitution says Ahmadis are Kafir. What do you say about that? Does that need to be followed?
We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

If I agree with you we w'd both be wrong.

they are free. They are free to subjugate themselves to worldly matters, lust, desires, consumerism and nihilism. They are free from being able to resist. They are free from abstinence. They are free from piety.

            They are paragons of freedumb.

I am glad you caught on.

The point that I was making is when it is not your own, you say stick to the constitution.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

YES absolutely, free to be dumb. Great description.
What did you mean about resistance ?

The expressions on the women in the video's faces are unforgettable. The anguish on each face and in their eyes tells the story better than hundreds of words.

About the Turkish Constitution, I vote that they should scrap it and go back to the dignified and religious days of the Ottomans ! Ataturk looks like a demon - look at his face.
He did some good of course, but who knows where his soul came from to squash religion so ruthlessly, and try to take away Turkey's soul.

well, people submit to anything and everyone that shoves opinions, views and dogmas on them. They just cant resist following the masses like cattle. Which is so sad. Because you would assume that an advanced society where there are so many educated people, would show more resilience. But no. Even academics are just as gullible as the soccerfans.

                    This is pure logical fallacy!

Most religious people don't go to school to learn about what they believe in, they are brought up with whatever faith they are born within.

"This is what Secularists and Nationalists are after" in where? Mullah Sngara, I hope you are not shooting from your hips again. What the Turks are doing is against the very ethos of secularism, not only that but basic human rights. It should be condemned in its serious terms.

                          Sangar Brother,
The video was very disappointing in terms of secular oppression against choice of will but i can assure you PASHTUN Nationalism is not consistent or even close to the satanic injection of KAMAL ATATURK.
Pashtun Nationalism does not denounce Islam or traditional cultural values but development, prosperity and literacy of Pashtun Nation.

Are you the same as the Wali Khan party? They were pretty socialist as I recall. Is that one still around ?

                              Maybe this one is different.

As for Sangar's explanation about people being led so easily down really terrible roads of modern life especially in the Western countries, it's so clearly on target that I didn't bother to express agreement. I thought that was a given.

It's difficult to talk to almost all the people over here these days because they are so "out there" due to bad influences and various dark pursuits which lead them right into the devil's hands. This is the product of people following 'the crowd', watching TV, movies which are horrible these days. They don't remember things, they look like zombies so many of the people you see on the street.

One can't even check their Yahoo email account without having to look now at a full-screen picture of either a demented weirdo OR a woman with disgusting tattoos all over her arm! There are no neutral scenes for example of scenic beauty or flowers, no of course Yahoo couldn't have put something normal on the screen that all users are forced to look at.
Almost on every side, a person living in the West is bombarded by very negative type things. It's up to the individual to be strong and ignore them or succumb to the very low common denominator of the average person.

I always say that, too: that with such massive amount of money available for education, most Americans are shockingly ignorant. But worse, they are not curious to learn about different parts of the world, different beliefs, etc. It's a bad mix for a country that is trying to occupy all these other lands to have no interest in the people there, to say the very least.

One would think that further education would open up minds, but it doesn't. I hear the same stereotyped opinions from Deans of Politcal Science Schools as i do from uneducated laborers: all based exclusively on what they got from the media. They don't inquire further and repeat the same tired stuff that the media does, and they enjoy sounding like they are very knowledgeable. You should hear the way people who barely knew where Iraq was before the invasion pedantically pronounce to listeners "Well the Kurds should be this and the Shias should be that and the Sunnis should get this..."
All because they read a couple of articles in the New York Times, they style themselves experts...
