  • Afghanistan Elections 2014

Let's try to discuss the elections here.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

    -Ferishta, 1560–1620

All the leading candidates might as well be the same person as besides abdullahs support for a parliamentary system, they all have the same positions on everything.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

All of them are western bureaucrats so i don't expect any of them to make major changes for Afghanistan as they will still be taking orders from the U.S.

Even ghani who is leading in votes in this years election said he will sign the BSA.

YET DUMB AFGHANS ARE HAPPY ABOUT THE ELECTIONS!!!!!!

You know the taliban and most of afghans wont like to be ruled under another fckd up gov like the karazai one, they want an independent gov who will make the best decision for afghanistan and afghan as a first thing, not the other nations interest..

egypt had a fair elections (which i doubt afghans will have it since the usa still there) and yet the foreign countries didn't like the president that was choosen and he didnt even make his first year. LOL

afghanistan is a war zone place and will always be (i wish its not true).. this is what i see when i read about the black flags hadiths ..

            Good luck to all afghans.
No doubt the top candidates are conected to outsiders.
They have to take orders from outsides.
These westreners plan for long time.If they are leaving afghanistan this dose,nt mean their influence will be finished.
No candidate can go for an election on his own.
Some of them may not want but have no choice.
Lets hope for someone who can do something good for poor and bring stability.
On the other side Talibans are playing their own cards.

Good luck to Afghan brothers and sisters.

Who knows if the Taliban will regain power (hopefully not), however in the long run they can never succeed. Countries with high HDI (Human Development Index) are not that susceptible to extreme reactionary fundamentalism. Education, development and awareness are the biggest weapons against the Taliban.

There are just too many Afghans now who are educated for these backwards militants to rule the country forever. The du'a of the oppressed (mazloom) is answered (mustajaab) and the victims of the Taliban will ultimately get their prayers answered. Ameen.

Also a peaceful transition of power from one elected civilian government to another is a major accomplishment in itself e.g. Pakistan in its 70 year history only managed to do this for the first time ever, last year.

I think Ashraf Ghani is probably the most suitable out of them all. After all, he would be one of the most educated presidents in the world at least.
