No hard feelings please but from your discussion I find no fundamental difference between Pakistan's and your stances on the Taliban.

This comes from someone who has spent years in Journalism they are not how they appear they are ordinary citizens who have declared war on infidels. The minute the Americans leave the insurgency will drop and those left will the Pakistani ISI spies. The spies we should be focusing on getting rid of.
Spending years in journalism is not a guarantee that the person shall have authentic views and information. While the Taliban make good hot stories for the journalists to sell, they make us - ordinary people - part of those stories. Ordinary people's concern is not fighting against the "infidels" but to worry for their stomach and shade. However, if someone promises them of eight heavens, gardens of fruits and food, rivers of vodka and whiskey then they are very much prone to preferring that over an onion and some bread.

Pakistan has been trying to tell the Afghans that the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan is an outright American invasion. If we hear the same words from an Afghan journalist then Pakistan is doing the job very successfully. There are more than 50 nations in Afghanistan today and they are here under the mandates of UN resolutions and the Bonn Agreement. If the international community leave Afghanistan today, what options do we have then? And will the "mujahideen" spare the democratic government - a legacy of the "infidels"?

Taliban are Pashtuns, we should sit down and talk with them.
Is their being Pashtun our only concern when we say let's talk to them?

Leave this they did this to swat, they banned schools monkey business to the side. They never banned female institutions in Afghanistan they wanted them to be reformed.
Some reforms of the Taliban in Afghanistan

We don't need Pakistan to tell us what is going on in Afghanistan.

You are just functioning as a propagandist for the pro-American puppet regime here.

The truth is as obvious as sun-light. America is colonizing our country. And thousands of people have been martyred.

The only people who deny the atrocities going on right now are people who are servants of the crusaders who want to "romanize" our language and impose "damtob" I mean democracy on us.

However, the Taliban are the product of the Mujahideen. Whereas the intention of the Mujahideen was to HELP its people, the Taliban (and I speak on behalf of those who have destroyed Swat) have not been any good to us at all.

Now, if your attempt is to tell me that, no, those aren't the "real" Taliban, that's a whole different story, and many have tried the same but none have succeeded in proving that.

As I said in my last post about this, there's a huge difference between the experiences of the Pashtuns in Afghanistan and those in Pakistan (specifically Swat and nearby districts that were ruined by the Taliban). Those from Pakistan's side DON'T want the Taliban back, and for this, I don't need you to give me sources to prove me wrong when I know the people in Swat and am directly in touch with them.

The people in Afghanistan, some of them, yes, miss the Taliban, and we have some Pashtuns here as proof for that, so I don't need you to give me sources for that either.

And, no, it's not going in circles: The Pashtuns from Pakistan and Afghanistan did NOT have the exact same experiences as those in Afghanistan. When you say you want the Taliban back or that they were good for us, then you are clearly speaking for only one side and not for both.

Also, my judgments are based on my observations and experiences. I don't need to pick up a book that's written by those who were never even INVOLVED in the war with the Taliban to tell me what the Taliban did in Swat or to Swatis. Again: My family, relatives, friends, neighbors, and other Swatis are enough for that, and I'd trust them over any source of the media. We all know the media has its own agendas and will reveal certain aspects of a movement while ignoring others. Just because you work with the media or are a journalist, doesn't mean I should trust you more than I trust my relatives' experiences -- again, the media is always biased, no exceptions.

And if it was just one or two families, or a couple of hundreds of people, who were killed or hurt by the Taliban, only THEN would you be able to say: "Would you blame an entire university if a student from it killed some people?" So, your comparison is completely illogical in this sense.

It's Indian influence that the Taliban banned education on females in Swat? Seriously, Jasmine? You've gotta be kidding me. Are you familiar with anything about Muslim Khan and Fazlullah? If not, I am - and those are the two main leaders of the Taliban in Swat. Not only am I familiar with them, I KNOW them as well. I know the family of Muslim Khan, I know his daughters, I know his sisters-in-law, I know his father. I also know that THEY don't support him at all and his father got a heart attack after being depressed over what his son Muslim Khan was doing to Swat and to innocent people.

There, Swatis don't want the Taliban. I've yet to meet anyone from Swat who does want the Taliban back.

When you speak on behalf of Pukhtuns, please remember that there are those in Pakistan as well, and their views and dreams and desires don't always resemble those of our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. So it's unfair to say that "Oh, the Taliban of Swat were different -- or they're just a minority. The rest of the Taliban were/are good and want real Islam. And that's why people want them back."
I dont understand why everybody uses this word taliban for everything. All group is always called taliban, when that is such a general term. How can you honestly say that a group in swat is directly related to a group in Afghanistan? They may have similar type of ideas but that doesn't mean they are the same. I do not believe the groups in Swat had anything to do with taliban of Afghanistan.

I don't think you can use the Swat example for the whole region. Whatever happened in swat was unique to swat. They were not Taliban and that is a fact. This group existed in Swat ages ago and due to the current situation over there, they felt that now was the time to go and expand. But they failed.

It makes me laugh that we people allege that Afghans or Pashtuns from Afghanistan want to be ruled by Taliban. No one wants Taliban back, thank you. The world is not short of Ahmaqan like Sangar other skewed minded distrub peolpe like him. He is some one who has a personal attatchment with Taliban just beacause some of his relatives were Taliban, and amongst them were some pious people with great intentions. That is beside the point, and one looks at the Taliban who they really are, what they stand for and what they can do for the citizen, it becomes trivial. They are totalitarian monkies with no sesnse running the country or living in 21st century. Sangar is a hypocrtie. If he really loved them or stood for what he believes in then he should go and join their cause instead of labling us this or that. He is a munafiq who comes here with his surra's and ahadith about christian and how Islam abhors and forbids having anything do to do with them, while he owns everything he have and has him accessed to PF due to the the same christians.

                  Taliban=subhuman.

                      Wazir,

Watch this video carefully too. I say this again, had we we still Taliban around, today the Durrand line would've been erased completely. Pakistan was playing with fire and still is. They call you the kuffr bacian.

                          Dear Dawezai Momand

May I ask out of sheer Sarcascism which group of taliban would somebody want to talk too beside being pushed in the face with demands of legalisation of public floggings and other unusual and un-pashtun practices.

The Only solution is to never make peace with Taliban but destroy the real root cause of the talibans purpose which is the ISI then who will give them shelter?

                          Kind Regards

And how do we do that? (not sarcastic at all)
We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

If I agree with you we w'd both be wrong.

Be good, If you can't be good be lucky

My point is nobody can speak to the taliban without them having some kind of hidden demand which will spoil any true peace agreement.
