HPC Questions U.S. Presence, Calls Bin Laden 'Martyr'

Thursday, 13 February 2014 20:20 Last Updated on Thursday, 13 February 2014 20:39 Written by Tariq Majidi

Maulavi Shahzada Shahid, a spokesman to the Afghan High Peace Council (HPC), said on Thursday that the main cause of war in the region is the interference and presence of foreign forces.
The comments come just a few days after a number of Afghan lawmakers expressed concerns with pro-Taliban statements being made by government officials.
The HPC spokesman called the former leader of Al-Qaeda, the late Osama Bin Laden, a martyr and criticized the presence U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

"The U.S. is selfish and arrogant and says that no one can stand before her technology," Maulavi Shazada Shahid said. "The U.S. acts in a manner that it can do whatever it wants, or influence someone, it thinks always to establish a system and change a regime, but these approaches pursued by the U.S. have led to insecurity in the region," he continued.
"The U.S. committed crimes in Iraq, the U.S. came under the pretext of Osama, you [the U.S.] martyred Osama and yet you are still here."

This is the first time an Afghan government official has publically declared Osama Bin Laden a martyr, and it has received quite a bit of blowback.
"When the President of Afghanistan begins secret relations with the Taliban and releases prisoners and allows elements to enter in the Presidential Palace with fake documents and even delay signing of the agreement to make Taliban happy, it is natural that the individuals who are related to government circles or serve on the HPC will talk louder than the President on behalf of the Taliban," Parliament's Youth Affairs Chairman Naqibullah Fayeq said.

Recent statements and actions from President Hamid Karzai, along with the most recent ones from the HPC spokesman, do not bode well for Kabul-Washington relations. Instead, they suggest Afghan leaders are looking to push the U.S. and its allies away while also ingrating themselves to violent Islamists in the region.

Afghan MP Khawasi calls on Ghorband residents for Jihad against US forces

      By Ghanizada - Wed Jan 22 2014, 8:53 am

An Afghan lawmaker, Abdul Satar Khawasi, who was leading a probe team in northern Parwan province of Afghanistan, calls on the residents of Ghorband district for Jihad against the US forces.
Khawasi along with a number of other parliament members and government officials, were appointed by Afghan president Hamid Karzai to probe the civilian casualties in a joint Afghan-NATO forces operation in this province.
The private Tolo Television Network obtained a video of delegations’ visit to Parwan province, which shows Khawasi is encouraging the residents of Ghorband district to fight against the US forces.
Khawasi also calls a number of government officials miscreants and involved incorruption.
This comes as a number of lawmakers in the Afghan parliament expressed concerns regarding the probe team’s findings regarding the casualties in Siah Gerd district of Parwan province.
According to the findings of the probe led by Abdul Satar Khawasi, at least 12 civilians including women and children were killed during an airstrike by coalition forces in Siah Gerd district.
The report which was presented to Afghan president Hamid Karzai, also added that local security insitutions were informed of the operation and there were no coordinations between the security officials and Parwan officials before the operations were launched.
However, provincial governor for Parwan province Abdul Basir Salangi also rejected the findings of the probe team and said the operation was successsful, despite a number of civilians were killed or injured.
Salangi said that a senior Taliban leader who was freed from Pul-e-Charkhi prison a year ago, was killed during the operation.
This comes as another lawmaker representing Parwan province in Afghan parliament, expressed doubts regarding the findings of the probe team and said the findings were politically motivated.

very well then. when will he be picking up a kalashinkov and heading off to jahad?? or is his responsibility limited to instigating and inspiring just the villagers to fight against the foreign occupation??
because i don't know...making such claims can be a very easy way of manipulating people to gain brownie points when you are a political figure.
and am i supposed to know what HCP stands for?? would it ****ing kill you not to abbreviate something that is not common knowledge??
takhalus ye shahid dey aow pakhpala rogh ramat garze. to prevent civilians from dying, he is suggesting that they declare jahad against these forces. because if before they were dying with out a legitimate reason, now they can be labelled as terrorists and martyers in the same line as osama. what is the government for??
as they say in parsi, zoret sar khar name rasa, bizan da palanesh. if he genuinly believes that the government is incompetent when it comes to dealing with such issues, why is he a part of it?? why doesn't he go and physically lead that group that he is calling on for jahad instead of occupying that seat as an MP for no reason??

"To burn always with this hard gemlike flame, to maintain this ecstasy, is success in life."

America lost the war and is packing up to leave. Meanwhile Pakistan is considering accepting Talibans demands. The current regime in Kabul is scared a bloody take over of Kabul by Taliban. This is why they are these things. They are chabging sides. This is the sign of true munafiq. Choosing the side of victors.

I hope the Taliban punish them once Kabul is liberated.

Once again a rash and idiotic comment. Not even in a million years will Talibs be able to take over. Taliban can continue to wage their low intensity insurgency for years to come which could at most compel the government to politically accommodate them, otherwise they are no match to the almost 400,000 strong ANSF. The entire Talib man force which numbers in their 30 somthing thousands the ANA which in terms of training, organisation, resources and ammunitions is by far superior than the forces the Talibs had defeated will now crash in any frontal war.

In fact just the ragtag Taliban like Arbaki forces are enough to keep the Taliban at bay in any rural area where they can be found. Suicides and explosions does not tantamount to taking over Kabul fool.

These people are not sincere unless they draw a line in the sand and make their position clear on the occupation instead of once in a while making nationalist statements for political points.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
