I wonder why urdu was declared national language when only 7% people in pakistan speak urdu at home.They are indians refugees kicked out from india during partition.
The pakistan movement was dominated by urdu speakers of that time so thats the main reason.

Urdu was more like a bridging language in India, even though it was only native to Delhi/UP areas, it was understood by many outside the region. Most of the religious works in south asia were done in the Urdu language by scholars. This influenced them selecting Urdu

Urdu was brought to India because of the Muslim "Persian" conquerors to rule the foreign army under their command. Like our National Army is called Urdu-e-Mili that is totally in Pashto, There fore the name of the "new" language URDU. Army langauge in Pashtunistan/Afghanistan and commands are in Pashto. The best fighters for Achaemenid empire, Ottoman empire etc were always Pashtun/Afghans. Porkis should be ashamed of themselves to try to create new fantasy history, when all the evidence is for open knowledge. Instead of talking so some stranger in forum.

Go ask University teachers, they will answer you and ask for proof, they will bring text from hundreds of years old books. I always start my research like this. With wonderful internet, you can find many professors and doctors degree historians and language experts in all parts of the world. Go to the top famous universities websites, search for email for some teacher, send a email. And from 24 H to 2-3 weeks you will certain get a reply. Ask in a intelligent way and say it for research you will certainly get answer and some proof as well.

Remeber, ask, locally teachers first, example, Islamabad Universities about Urdu language, if you are not happy with the answer, ask different teachers, go to Iranian teachers, then go to Hindi, etc. Read all answers many times and take a conclusion that makes logical or will satisfies your agenda. Try stay away from western biased bull**** history. (Urdu) itself wasn't brought, but yes it developed through the interaction of local indians with persian, afghans, turks, mughals etc.... The name Urdu was developed much later, before the local language was called something else, I think Hindawi. In fact before hindu nationalism started in the late 18th century, there was no separation between Urdu and hindi for example. Hindi in a sense is a new language because hindu nationalists started taking out all the foreign words and replacing them with Sanskrit, this is how modern hindi was developed
