    Chinese weapons 'reaching the Taliban'

Taliban fighters have boasted about new hi-tech weaponry

Chinese weapons are ending up in the hands of Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, British officials have complained to their counterparts in Beijing.

Concerns over lax export arrangements have been aired after Afghan officials revealed more and more sophisticated Chinese-made weapons are being found in the country.

These include surface-to-air missiles, anti-aircraft guns, landmines, rocket-propelled grenades and parts to make roadside bombs, members of the Afghan administration have told the BBC.

“Chinese HN-5 anti-aircraft missiles are with the Taliban, we know this... and we are worried where do the Taliban get them, some of these weapons have been made recently in Chinese factories,” a 'senior Afghan official’ said.

The Foreign Office confirmed to The Daily Telegraph this morning that it was pressing the Chinese on the issue “at a senior level”.

Local reports suggest Taliban fighters have begun boasting about their new hi-tech weaponry.

Another Afghan official reported: “Serial numbers and other information from most of the Chinese weapons have been removed in most cases and it’s almost impossible for us to find out where they come from.”
Intelligence officials in the landlocked south west Asian country are believed to think that Taliban fighters are getting their weapons from arms smugglers who bring them in from Iran.
The BBC reported: “Unnamed US officials have recently been quoted as saying that China has been selling arms to Iran which Iran is then passing on to insurgent groups in Afghanistan and Iraq.”
A Foreign Office spokesman confirmed the matter had been raised with the Chinese.
The spokesman said: “We have been pushing the Chinese hard on the standards for arms exports.
“We have raised this with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a senior level earlier this year, making clear the serious need that Chinese produced arms do not end up in the hands of undesirable groups, which include the Taliban.”

This is nothing new, and "China" have been sold weapons for a long time, 80-90 it started I think. But then, it was mostly Triads, and other Mafia to neighbouring countries and South America. Now when China is normal superpower, and have their political elites and billionaires. They can reach far more corners of the world. They sell to who ever pays best, mainly trough connection etc.

It is in their interest to hurt west/NATO and other competition as much as possible, so they can easily buy their countries, their companies, in-debt them more. Still, I don't understand they own US debt, US can't pay that up, will they buy US cities with that money instead or just will have an influence in their policies in the future. Will US allow it? Because US is a crazy country, they can start war just to boost their economy.
To Paradise, with Pakhto, I will go.

I have discussed the China-Taliban nexus versus NATO/US with Chinese politicians and they have admitted that enemy of the enemy is a friend but as they themselves are facing the Islamists in the Muslim Sinkiang, so they will now never support, encourage and sell arms to Taliban.

They say that US supported the Frankenstein monster of Mujahideen and now US is fighting the same Islamists, Chinese will never repeat the same mistake.

My fighting is against Islamism not Islam. Islam as a religion will always remain as a religion but as islamists Taliban were defeated and there is no more active Islamism in power, the same will happen every where.

You are all the same, racists/fascists/Islamopheobes say the exact same thing initially "We are not against Islam but radical Islam" "We have no issue with Islam, our problem is with Islamism" blah blah blah, but soon enough their true agendas come out in blatant fashion just how yours also have a long time ago. Let me tell you Badlun, your tactics are outdated..alot has happened to Muslims in the past 10-15 years & people are wising up to the likes of you and your people, tides are changing - Islam is a sleeping giant..it will wake up soon, possibly in your lifetime..if it doesn't in you're lifetime then perhaps you will be turning in your grave, but no doubt it will happen.

what does this have to do with islam? on one hand they want to be on the good side of taliban in case something happens between them and america in future and on the other hand, they are just making a business deal on what they have manufactured. we are their guinea pigs. they are as much of our friends as the americans are.
they are not providing taliban with weapons because they care for islam, they are doing it because they want to have their slice of the pie by benefiting from our misery in their own personal way.

it doesn't matter how many times you people are smacked on the mouths, you will never learn.

You spoke to Chinese politicians like you said you spoke to Hillary Clinton about how Iran is cool?

                      Your stories are lame
