Taliban were stretagic assets of ISI, no doubt about it. But paki military establishment begin to disappoint when afghan taliban governament refused many demands of paki governament. Still support was there for them as taliban eradicated any indian influence from afghanistan. In 2001 paki military completely gave up on afghan taliban due to fear from america and greed for dollars, without taking into consideration the fact that pashtun belt of pakistan is connected to afghanistan. They even went so far to launch first ever paki military operation in waziristan on america's demand, tried to intimidate wazirs which ended up in clashes. Nek mohammad had participated in taliban war against northern alliance, so was the case with baitullah mehsud. They were stretagic assets of ISI but turned against them when army back-stabbed afghan taliban. They might be hindus in disguise for some people or ISI agents for pashtun nationalists like you but they are a reality.
