you guys must be joking, of panjabistan supporting pashtun, reviving pashto. there is no doubt iran is seeking its influence in afghanistan, iran had given shelter to many jihadis including hekmatyar, like any other sponsor is trying to influence its language persian. on the other hand pnjabistan had supported all the enemies of pashto and pashtun, in the begining it had tried its best to buy parsiwans, but they were offered alot more by ex-soviets states, turky and Iran. panjabistan had no choice but to side with pashtuns who could sell their country easily, taliban never served pashtun's interests nor pashto, but they were uneducated who wanted to arabize us, many of them could not speak arabic nor dari.

Wait, I'm not sure if I'm getting this right. If what I'm gonna say below is not what you meant, then I apologize in advance and would like to better understand your point/argument, Jasmine guley.

Is the argument that the Taliban were good because they supported Pukhto and made Pashtuns in Afghanistan speak Pukhto?

And over 90% of the things that we know about the Taliban is "exaggerated"? In terms of the Pukhto language, they're good, we're saying. But what about in terms of their destruction of our heritage (tombs, statues) and our land? Again, no doubt that the experiences of the Pashtuns in Afghanistan under the Taliban were VERY different from the experiences of the Pashtuns in Pakistan under the Taliban, but does this really make sense to some of us? . . . That just because they promoted Pukhto, according to some of us, they were good? . . .

If the argument is about the Taliban, then what do Pakistan and Iran have to do with it? Yes, yes, I know of the creation of the Taliban and who's been nurturing them and who our enemies are, BUT what I'm saying is -- I can't find the nexus between "Taliban are good 'cause they promoted Pukhto" and "Iran is bad" and "Pakistan is good." Are we trying to say that Iran is bad because Dari was spoken prevalently throughout Afghanistan until the Taliban took over? Then, where does Pakistan fall into place here?

I ask these questions because, Jasmine guley, your last paragraph says:

This is confusing because what does going to Afghanistan have to do with agreeing/disagreeing with the idea that Pakistan supports Pukhto?

And, finally, just to clarify here:

Pakistan is good because it indirectly supports/supported Pukhto by creating and nurturing and supporting the Taliban?

I guess what I find most baffling is how we can say that a certain force is good or bad just because it supports/enforces a certain language while we COMPLETELY ignore and deny the more important effects of that force: The brutal killings and destruction of millions of people!
