Meerut: In a shocking incident reported from the Lisadi area of Meerut district, a man who allegedly raped his daughter repeatedly was asked to marry her by the village Panchayat.
Due to continuous sexual abuse the victim became pregnant however, nobody in the area was aware about it. The man had been raping his daughter ever since his wife had died 3 years ago.
After the death of the victim’s mother, her 2 other siblings started living with their grandparents while she stayed with her father. The victim had stopped moving out of the house but one day when she had gone out, the people around noticed her bulging belly.
When the residents learnt about the abuse they took the victim to her grandparents who later approached the village Panchayat.
Shockingly, when the matter was presented before the village Panchayat headed by 5 men, they ordered the accused to marry his daughter and leave the district forever.
