  • Do you support Mr. Ghani or Mr. Karzai?

Do you support Mr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai or Mr. Qayyum Karzai, brother of Our Mayesty Mr. Hamed Karzai, the president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan? How do you stand in general toward future leaders with western wifes and children? Will this be capable with Afghanistan and our culture? Please share your opinion on this. I need this for my survey.

Please imagine you are living in Afghanistan. I know many AFghans abroad have a different view on our leaders than those living here in the country.

I don't think people will seriously pay this factor an attention. Ashraf Ghani and Qayum Karzai both have what you call western wives. Factors such stronger coalitions, regional and ethnic allegiance, as well as political affiliation or kinship will be the ultimate determinants of the outcome of the elections. Your favorite candidates Zalmay Rasoul and Karzai have almost zero chance of winning.

What wife has to do with culture. Modern wives can modernize the culture if you take it so much important. Women in Afghanistan should have role model of modern wives, not the shuttle cock burkas dressed living coffins.

My candidate is Ahmadzai. He is an intellectual, active politician, finance expert and I know him personally.

          in another thread badlun says

The more we are Pashtuns, the less we will be religious bigots and radicals
now he wants some white american woman to be the model of what a woman should be in our culture.

and did you seriously ask what a wife has to do with culture?
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

His wife and children seem to be Christians. Mr. Ghani is an open-minded person if this is the case. I appreciate it but what does it mean for Taliban Afghanistan having a christian First Lady? Maybe it could worsen the political situation of Afghanistan. Your opinion.

I would choose Ghani, but I think his goverment would be the same as that of Karzai, incompetent and full of corruption, I guess we have to wait for another revolution.

                Ghani means more "Karzaism".

Anyway let me tell you something people: if Ghani wins that will mean civil. You can not rule Afghanistan without tajiks-hazaras.

I find damn hilarious how in every election process instead moving on we actually step back. I dislike Karzai but at least he has been able to rule Afghanistan with the help of many non pashtuns.

                  6 votes for Ghani? really?

are you people really going to support the man who installed Dostum; "the killer of pashtuns" in his cabinet? I was all for Ghani as well but after his alliance with dostum, i felt a disgust and a bit betrayed that he would team up with this man especially being a northern pashtun who knows friends families that got slaughtered by this uzi.

I don't want to see another karzai installed in power myself but come one people! I'll stay neutral here.

Nonsense. As if a Ghani presidency will result in Panjsheris losing their grip on power.

                    Laughable.

It´s like picking between AIDS and cancer.

I wouldn´t vote for any of them.
Ghani with Dostum as his vice president,....this is an insult not only to whole Afghanistan but this will cost him all the Kochi votes, too. In this light his PhDs, lectures and books seem meaningless.
How can a person who has written essays and books on nation building and fixing failed states run with a guy who is the personification of what failed states fear the most....uneducated strongmen who emerge from turmoil and disorder, eroding old structures and implementing new structres based on violence and corruption?
Ghani should be ashamed of himself.

And Qayum Karzai is as incompetent as his older brother.

I would have voted for Jalali but he isn´t running.
                      The only constant is change.

Does 'voting' even determine who steppes up to power? i mean we're talking about Afghanistan here, do you really think it will be a fair election and whoever people vote for will win?? hmmm

Jalali played a very good game and fooled everyone of us selling himself as a Pashtun. He is a two-face monster. Jalali has Farsiwan-Hazara origin (Nijrab-Uruzgan) and he wanted to turn Afghanistan into a northern zone-state with a Dawud Khani style.
