    Salamoona graano malgaro,
I put this topic forward to discuss any type of agenda for all Pakhtuns (lar au bar) to put forward a set of common demands. Bayaad Pakhtaana ka raattol shee ao yaw agenda ra makhae tha kee nu dder kha ba wee che Narrae pwae shee che ayaa daa pakhtaana ham tsa waee ao tsa ghwaree. I will request members to come forward with some, I will add in as well.

I think along with your lack of knowledge in pashtun history, you also lack in pashto. Da lar au bar means all pashtuns, so this is for the pashtuns benefit, not for your GHQ. Please preach this at a GHQ forum. Manana

I think the set of demands are very clear:

1 Pashtuns are a single national, linguistic and cultural entity.
2 Pashtuns shall participate in a federal/confederal structure for Pakistan under the following conditions:
      A. The Pashtun people of Pakistan shall be united in a single province namely Pashtunkhwa, Pashtunistan or Afghania.
      B. The Pashtun province shall have complete autonomy to lagislate and execute on all issues other than Defence and Foriegn Policy.
      C. The resources of Pashtun Watan (Marbles, Tobbaco, Water, Electricity etc) are the sole property of the masses of the Pashtun Watan.
      D. Pashto shall enjoy full state patronage and the state shall endeavor to develop the language further.
      E. The Senate of Pakistan shall be empowered as it represents the federation. Any bill or law must be passed by at least two-thirds of the representatives of all the provinces in the Senate to be effective.
      2. Pashtuns reject terrorism and consider such phenomena external to the Pashtun Nation and culture and an imposition of foriegn powers.
3 The Pashtuns on both sides of the Durand Line reject any interference of nieghbouring countries in Afghanistan.
4 The Pashtuns consider other ethnicities in Afghanistan equal partners in statecraft, state institutions and developmental endeavors.

No you mean you want fencing. However the point of the thread was lar au bar, that means a proposal in the interests of all pashtuns. You are just speaking for the interests of GHQ (and the british before them). Ironic.

Political, Cultural and Linguistic Unity are more likely if we begin with common platforms.

I wonder, without having a protracted debate about the rights/wrongs of our political representation, why is it that we have a number of claimants for representation of Pashtoon Unity when they claim that they desire the same thing.

In a healthy democracy, I'd say this is good because it brings integrity and some competitive accountability to those who choose to represent us, but in Afghanistan and Pakistan, multiple claimants of Pashtoon-interest politics can only split the popular vote.

Note that there are many who wish for the same thing. An example is http://www.pashtoonkhwa.com/? The late Dr Kabir Stori was influential here and the website stands as a reminder of his life and work, which I think is important. The website is also undeniably political with a manifesto/agenda etc. that favours the notion of a united lar au bar Afghanistan/Pashtoonkhwa.

Obviously, we are all dreaming of greater things - peace, prosperity, cultural/political unity, 24 hour electricity, running water etc. The abscense of basics creates the insecurity in the region and without poltical unity, the challenge is multifold.

Just once, if there was something I could wish for, it would be for a united collective conciousness, both at the ground level, but more importantly at the top with our leadership.

I don't agree, and I suspect I know your reasons, but explain why this would help Pashtoons?

BLS wrora nice thread, it's a great idea.

Pashtuns really need to unify a hell lot more, this is why we don't get anywhere, because we disagree on *everything*. Not only do we distinguish ourselves from others, but we do so to eachother as well, (and so divide) according to tribes etc. There's also no one who speaks officially for all pashtuns, there's no actual establishment, much to my knowledge anyway. So finding common demands is a start, especially if we want to be a stronger movement.

I think most poeple agree that Pashto should be taught in Pakhtunkhwa, along with history and culture. If they really want it then they should fight for it, but I don't see why they can't just add it into the curriculum..?

You know there was a time when demand for a separate educational board in Peshawar would be considered as treason against state.

There was only one board and that was located in Lahore. Pashtuns from far flung areas would go to visit Takht e Lahore to have their work done.

Saiba I still remember not long ago, when I studied in peshawar school, even the Pashtunkhwa name change thing was treason or as they said ùseless`. But see everyone jumped on the bandwagon when it gained momentum. Such will be the case for Pakhtun qaamee wahdat, etc. It is a matter of time inshallah.
