  • Retired Pashtun general arrested for fueling ethnic tension.

Shame on the government. All he was saying is that Pashtuns are real Afghans, others are immigrants, or Afghanistanis.

Gen. Taqat detained on charges of fueling ethnic tension | Pajhwok Afghan News

Gen. Taqat had allegedly said only one ethnicity are the original citizens of Afghanistan and insulted other citizens by saying they were not the original inhabitants of Afghanistan. He had expressed these views at at a political talk show aired on the Zwandoon Television channel.

great general saying the truth about the parsiwan bacha bazi bandits living as thiefs and warlords in afghanistan shabaz
his pictures should be everywhere in afghanistan and not the pictures of this dead tajik bacha bazi warlord ahmad shah massoud that usa paid with their tax to hang it everywhere.this general would have my vote if he would be a canditate for president of afghanistan.i also support one offical language for afghanistan pashto in afghan office, school,tv etc

what a wonderful start to a beautiful morning. I can tell that this is going to be a good day. Finally some consequences for idiotic and selfish behaviours. If only they could extend the gesture by doing the same to others sharing his opinions.

I can understand how he said that out of frustration; since several people in parliament continously said they refused to be called Afghan. Anywho, he already issued an apology:

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

When people refuse to call themselves Afghans it is apparently ok, but when people find pride in being Afghan it is a crime...

Apparently it is a crime nowadays to find pride in being Afghan.

Of course it is wrong to disclaim other people from being an Afghan, but it is also a wrong thing to disclaim oneself from being an Afghan. So if the government imprison this guy, then the government should also imprison those who disclaim themselves as Afghans as-well.
Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

People with identity crisis will be ignored as well.

                  who says it's okay??

there is nothing wrong with being proud of what you are. however, when your freedom of speech speaks on someone else's behalf, it's no longer freedom of speech but discrimination. two weeks ago when the subject was brought up, lots of members of the parliament made themselves clear as to what they thought of those not wanting to be associated with the word afghan and they were praised and supported for it. we don't want to differentiate people on the basis of their ethnicity but if they are not happy with being an afghan, they can go back to wherever they want to belong to.
this man may be the first afghan prosecuted for what he said but it is a step towards progress and i quite frankly don't care as to where it begins from. as long as it doesn't stop there.

It is true that the vast majority of Uzbeks and the Hazaras are not indigenous but now they are of the land. The Tajiks on the other hand are indigenous and their territory was annexed to Afghanistan, he has no right to tell the Tajiks to go back to their address, that is their address.

The problem is that the minorities in the country are ruling the majority by the gun. Everyone would be OK with it if they ruled through the ballot or meritocracy and not by the gun. This is why the T boys aka Panjabi slaves(lol) are trying to balance their guns with their own guns. This is why Pashtuns in Afghanistan outside of Kabul know that their interests lie with the T boys.

US backed leaders freedom of speech applies only to them who kiss the ass US/western world. Like many here who sides with parasites that doesn't even benefit our people 1 Afghani.

Maybe we have to many "american-afghans", and "pakistani-afghans", etc. that are sitting in parliament.

one theorie of the tajiks is the came with the first wave of the mongol invasion as refugees to afghanistan was running up to china from the mongols.the second wave of tajik imigrants came to afghanistan with the soviet invasion.ahmad shah massouds grandfather came from tajikistan as imigrant to afghanistan was running from the soviets.you can even not say who was first in afghanistan hazara or tajik.

we need more patriotic pashtuns in afghanistan like this general
