Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) have the upper hand over insurgents throughout most of the country, but the future could be grim without continued support from the United States and coalition forces. Recently air force of Afghanistan took delivery of its first two C-130 cargo planes in a boost for the country’s military capability as the NATO coalition starts to withdraw at the end of 2014.The C-130 planes, given by the United States, will be used to airlift troops and supplies across Afghanistan as national security forces take on the battle against the Taliban.
After 2014, ANSF sustainability will be at high risk without continued aid from the international community and continued Coalition force assistance including institutional advising, with assistance, however, the ANSF will remain on a path towards an enduring ability to defeat the insurgents.
In your opinion, how can Afghan National Security Forces better secure Afghanistan?
