3 December 2013, 04:39 Taliban support Karzai's opposition to US security pact
The Afghan Taliban said they back President Hamid Karzai's refusal to immediately sign a bilateral security agreement with Washington because his position is "closer to the truth."
"We hope that this opposition stems from a true Afghan pride and for the sake of ending the problems of our people," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement.
Notably, the Taliban also addressed Karzai as the Kabul administration's leader, instead of as the "puppet of the US."
