That is very low. I think in Afghanistan it is something around the same percentage as KP.

Indeed extremely low,But the situation pre 2000 was much more worst.

In the past decade the literacy rate has increaseed from merely 34% to 55% now.

it would had been even more today somewhere around punjab but because of the past **** head govt ANP.every education institute they built is of low standard and still awaiting being recoginized by either HEC or PMDC.

PTI has increased the education spending upto 19% from previous govt 7-10%.

Something i want to share as to why the education will improve within PTI govt

One of our neighbour in Dera ismail khan(from tank) was a registered school teacher in a village school,He didnt attend the school ever but still used to get salary. But ever since PTI has come in power in just the odd 5-6months.He was initially forced to attend the school but later he resigned."As he was barely a B.A pass and had got the job on approach."

This is because PTI has put some decent measure to over come the educational problems.

i might be very optimistic but i still believe within the next 5 years KPK can achieve 70% literacy rate or slightly low.

Punjab is already close to 70% and showbazz sharif has already claimed that punjab literacy rate will reach 80% within a very short span. This is because showbazz sharif is atleast loyal to his people

while our pashtun leaders are all about sucking the blood of poor pashtuns and the ful of corruption.

ANP were the worst govt in KPK ever.ever since 2006 2 new medical colleges were awaiting approval but ANP didnt approved any but rather built a low standard medical college in mardan..

Meanwhile PTI within only 3 months approved the benazir medical college in peshawar and has also claimed to approve the FATA medical college next year.

they have also planned a new uni in Lakki marwat and in dir and chitral.

I am also getting this news that PTI government is focusing on education and are taking commendable steps.

However now there focus on sit-ins, protests and taking up international issues instead of focusing on local issues will divert their attention from such an important sector like education and health.
