The commies wanted to fix all ills in our society.

Underage marriage (and molestation of boys), because children are not capable of consenting. The mullahs however liked their wives young (9 years old on average), and declared Jihad. This was literally their reason for fighting the government.

This is very interesting that in classic Persian poetry the beauty model is a boy, a male and they use masculine gender in the poetry. But in Pashto poetry the symbol is feminine gender. In Pashto we have mahbooba not mahboob.

Only after 1979 , when Wahabism was introduced in Pashtunland, I saw some street poets using boy as beloved because women were completely secluded and imprisoned at homes. Before Wahabi Islam women and men used to see each other especially in the rural areas.

persain rumi award in country of pashtun ahmad shah abdali, a big shame for pashtu speakers to celebrate this.afghanistan day by day becoming like iran.
                        Afghan and persain dose,nt match.
The tajikipied pashtuns of afghanistan should not use the name of pashtuns.
will people in punjsher or herat do the same for khushal or rahman baba award.

i think its a stupid charade, and its hosted in vegas? ahh what better place to give out an award that celebrates a sufi who disowned the material world than las vegas?

                          thanks for asking

Most Afghans believe that music can be a strong tool for bringing about social change and development. Music can teach people how to communicate with each other, and how to respect each other.
the hell does this even mean?
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

                              Dear all,

Aren’t Pashto and Dari both the official languages of Afghanistan? Why call each other Parsibans and Pashtuns? When is this ethnic and tribal differences will go away? When will Afghans come together under one flag? Why don’t we focus and discuss what Rumi has done for Dari literature lets put aside his sexuality.

                              Respectfully,
                              Hashmat

Are you sure Pashto is really an Official langauge of Afghanistan? When I visit an Afghan embassy, ministry of External Affairs ,other ministries, president office, in each and every office I see Dari, never Pashto.

All press conferences, official talks, press releases, official correspondence, every where Dari is used. Pashto is official only in Kandahar or in the papers of constitution not every where on the same level of Dari.

All Afghans are under one flag. We have one flag not that Pashtuns and non Pashtuns have different flags. Ethnic identity is like different names of same brothers of the same family. You cannot do away with the identity of an individual, family, tribe or ethnicity.

Why don’t we focus and discuss what Rumi has done for Dari literature lets put aside his sexuality.

Here you are right. We may not pursue the personal life of some one but focus on his message and achievements. I have read the whole Mathnavi Mulana Rum, all the six volumes. It is highly inspiring and Rumi is the only very popular figure in the west in Persian literature and spiritualism. His language is lucid and highly impressive. His couplets are heart dissolving.

                                Respectfully,
