This is great news. This is called collective wisdom. We people are spectators while these elders are the real players.

From here computer screens many recommend Taliban as the only viable option because they maintained security but they forget that the most secure place in the world is a jail but without all freedoms and facilties.

I hope Karzai and his colleagues will be able to prove as wise leadership of Afghans and will not let the Afghans to be cut into pieces by the dogs of Taliban .

There seems to be a profound bias and subjectivity in these forums when we talk of religion, Taliban, US forces and secularism. If Loya Jirga would have rejected the deal, there would be celebrations in PF but when elders endorsed the deal, there is a complete silence in this thread.

Where is Barakzai, Shamlawar, Manzareh and others who opposes BSA but when the Loya Jirga endorsed it, we do not hear nothing from them. Their silence means they either agree with the decision or do not have the guts to oppose this historic decision of the Afghan sages.

          Wrorraka,

Remember I told you that I was worried about your reading for comprehension capability. You have a syndrome of some frontal lobe dysfunction... so this means that you have some intellectual difficulty forming connections. Note in prior threads we had already described the jirga as a hand picked unrepresentative and fake jirga... no need to re-address their decision.

          Refer to prior discussions

Are the Jerga members not Afghans? Don't they represent all the sections of Afghan society? If they would reject the deal, would you feel for the jerga the same?

There are members who rejected the deal, are they also hand picked? Be honest man. Will your Taliban arrange such a jerga? What is the locus standi for those who oppose the jerga?

Benedict Arnold was technically an American

              No

If they would reject the deal, would you feel for the jerga the same?

irrelevant question since it was designed per internal critics (Abdullah, Parliament, another congregation of elders that took place in Kabul, NY Times, Gaurdian, State Dept) to codify the BSA

There are members who rejected the deal, are they also hand picked?

Refer to above. Its called stacking the game or loading the dye. Note that Bilqis was removed immediately after she had valid criticisms raised.

Be honest man. Will your Taliban arrange such a jerga?

Once again you are supposing I support them. I have stated repeatedly my discussions are an explanation of why they exist, an explanation of the reason for the insurgency, an explanation of why various groups represent the rural aggregate etc. and why the current power structure works against autonomy

What is the locus standi for those who oppose the jerga?

As I have read it various parliamentarians oppose since it is extraneous and even has been discussed as being unconstitutional by one member of parliament who was invited but did not attend for that reason.

Other reasons center around what was referred to above regarding it being a sham. Still other reasons are what Mr. Karzai has stated himself as reservations regarding autonomy issues.

For the rest once again please refer to the plethora of other writings.

a bunch of fools also made mullah omar the amir ul momineen. that is what happens when you invite the allies of your movement to reinforce a predetermined decision.

this loya jirga was tantamount to a rape.

look, they even invited their overlords to an afghan jirga lol imagine the reaction if paki army chiefs and isi members had been present front row at mullah omars coronation.

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

                  Please grow up boys!
Observer of a conference is one thing and participant/member is another thing. All foreigners were just observers or guests not members.

In all international or national conferences and assemblies we invite others to observe what is going on. This is transparency and image building.

It was not a village jerga where only locals will be present.

All stake holders were excellently represented. I call it a big success. Bravo Karzai!

bravo karzai for what? urging occupation of afghanistan while today saying these same foreigners don't respect afghan life and just recently saying that NATO brought nothing good to the country?

                    bravo?
