Wanted Taliban commander in Kunar reported killed in US drone strike - The Long War Journal

This was sent to me by a guy I went to school with who is in the Marine corps who was stationed in Bagram.

If you recall, this was apparently the gentleman in Paul Refsdahl's documentary:

    LiveLeak.com - Taliban - Behind the Masks

Matt Snow, CENTCOM, those from Kunar - any idea on the accuracy of this report?

Is there much pain in your heart? Was he sheltering Al-Zawahiri?

I knew him not a day in my life, but apparently Refsdahl grieved. Did you find Bilour's nose yet or even his left arm in your own neck of the woods?

I can tell you are antagonized to a great degree with the anti BSA documentation we provided here.... after all you are back out in the open Paracha Saib... a privilege you only deign to do when you feel intellectually cornered.

          He was Muslim.

Did you know him enough to write your **** post?

Maybe he was good, or maybe he was bad, but how can you judge?

There are pockets of influence of Jumath-i-Islami and Hizb-i-Islami the Paki and Afghan chapters of global Akhwan of which you are an activist and Internet warrior in Dir, Bajuar, all the way to Kunar and Nuristan and there are credible speculations that your spiritual leader Mr Al-Zawahiri is switching between the two sides.

And thanks for the honourable title.

Stupidest accusation I ever heard. The only thing I am active in is repeatedly mentally kicking your as-s here because you pick intellectual battles you cannot win and try and create a pseudonarrative that even your own colleagues like Badlun shoot down.

Then go personally and capture him and turn him over with your own two legs and leave the comforts of Toronto or Winnipeg Mr. Paracha. Otherwise quit the hypocrasy of eating pekoras all day while you send Canadians to their doom.

And thanks for the honourable title.
              No problem

I don't know... Long War Journal is an all right journal/think tank, so I would suspect that they wouldn't put it up if weren't true. That said, just because U.S. thinks they got him, doesn't necessarily mean they did. They could have very well got a guy with the same name... which sadly happens frequently. I once pulled every string I had to get a guy released who had been hunted and detained because he had a name and an enemy. I told them when he was captured that they were wrong, but they laughed and said they were going to go celebrate with cigars and near beer... a week later, when the guy was released we sent a picture to those clowns of us smoking cigars, drinking near beer and burning his own wanted posters, hahah

As far as this guy, I've got some friends that would know, but one would only know the DoD narrative, while the other may know the Safi narrative. I'll see what I can find out.
