  • Muslim rule India

If India didn't get divided into Pakistan and India, then Muslims would have been majority in India in the near future.

Even looking at todays India, the Muslims have increased in percentage while Hindus have decreased.

If we count Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indian Muslims we could have had a monopoly over the politics in India. Especially if we count that converts to Islam is higher than that of Hinduism.

In time Muslims could have had a greater number in India and would have become the majority.

Muslims in general would have had a greater say in world politics.

There are many theories, anything could have happened. no one knows. Like I have always said, that the Idea of a separate muslim state was a good one, however it wasn't carried out properly and wrong boundaries were made to divide people. I have talked to some Indians (hindus) and they said that the partition was the best thing that happend to India, because in their view more Muslims might have caused a lot more havoc in India and India wouldn't have progressed like it has done today. Not sure if they are right or wrong, because no one can guess what would have happened

I have to disagree. From what I know today in India there isn't any conflict between Muslims and Hindus. The conflict was started and fueled by politician and the British from that time. I highly doubt that any conflicts would have occurred in terms of religion.

If we look at todays Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, then we can see that politically they are secular. Which means that in terms of Politics there wouldn't have been any conflicts and could have lived side by side.

I honestly thing that partition of India was one of the worst ideas. It was the divide and rule policy of imperialists.

Also Jinnah wanted to divide and create a new country, just so he could have a legacy. The partition of India had nothing to do with religion.

Partition was set to happen be it after the withdrawal of British without the partition.

But I believe keeping 200million muslim was the biggest mistake the hindu could ever make. And even today many Nationalist hindu mourn over this decision.they should have pushed the muslims into Pakistan/Bangladesh by force if possible because a Muslim can never become 100% patriotic and being minority except though does exist but 200million is a extremely Big number.

Not now or may be not for the next 50 years. But The Indian Muslim would again one day want to get seperated. Not to join with Pakistan or Bangladesh but rather with their own country.

As Akbar owaisi Said "Hazaar Baar khuda na khwasta hazaar Baat Khuda na Khwasta Pehle to jayenge nahin aur agar jana bhi hua to Khaali Haath nahin jayenge Balkay Adhay(Half) India ko Apne sath le kr jayenge"

I believe it was the biggest mistake on part of Majority Indians aka Hindu to let such an huge number of muslim remain in their country.

Incase of Pakistan,Jinnah should have never agreed to Bangladesh but rather land closer to Pakistan such as either the Rajhistan or UP or kashmir etc.

Bangladesh was extremely far and very different people from us

There isn't conflict??? please read news some times. There is still a great division with in India between Hindus and Muslims. That said though, India is a secular nation, so many hindu and muslims who are secular generally get along well, but the religious ones are still divided mostly.

Also about partition, the whole thing depends on what muslim wanted at the time. if majority of muslims wanted to have a religious state, then obviously separation was a must, but if they wanted a secular state, then your point is correct, partition wasn't necessary. Like I said, partition wasn't done properly and it was done too quickly with out seeing future consequences. Thats why you see the mess called Pakistan today. If proper time had been taken and proper boundaries made, perhaps it would have been much better for everyone.

The majority of the Islamic scholars of India wanted preservation of India's unity as they felt it was better for the Muslim community as they would be at least a 1/3 or 1/2 of India.

The percentage of Muslims in India is not the official 10% or so but at least 20% if not higher e.g. 25% or more. If you add the Muslims of Bangladesh and Pakistan to that then the Muslim:Hindu ratio increases.

The Muslim community would have been too strong and powerful to be second class citizens and due to the proselytizing nature of Islam as opposed to the more passive nature of Hinduism (which encourages celibacy as opposed to Islam which encourages fecundity) the Muslim percentage would just have increased.

Who knows perhaps the British realized this and did not want another strategic region of the world, South Asia to fall in the hands of those "troublesome" Muslims who had caused them so much headache e.g. Ottoman Turks, the Mehdi and his fighters in Sudan and even the Afghans/Pashtuns who gave the British their biggest ever defeat and the biggest slaughter of a military force ever known in human history.

Having said that however the biggest beneficiaries of partition have in fact been the Muslim Bengalis who are now the only ethno-religious group in the whole subcontinent to have their own state and all the attendant power and prestige that ensues from it e.g. military, higher proportion of expatriate workers abroad, embassies to represent their interests and rights, identity etc.

The southern Indians were thinking of independence but when the 1965 war against Pakistan happened, this united the whole nation and the southern Indians decided their destiny was with India. The southern Indians are more progressive than the northern Indians and if the south became independent they would follow the east Asian states such as Taiwan, Malaysia etc as another relatively developed Asian tiger economy.

The Bangladeshi state is a success and works, I can explain why if anyone disagrees.

The Pakistani state is dysfunctional and unnatural and consists of different ethnic groups that do not like each other and the federation could break up again as it did in 1971.

As for the Muslims of India, they are part of India now and should do their best to live peacefully with their non-Muslim neighbours there and protect their civic rights and contribute to their nation.

The Muslims of south Asia, Bangladeshis, Indians and Pakistanis are the biggest single group of Muslims in the world and are the biggest champions of the religion, more than Arabs, Turks (many of whom are extremely secular), Malaysians.

South Asian Muslim communities have advanced Islam in the west more than any other ethnic group e.g. in Europe, N.America, Australia and South Africa.

Despite that other ethnic groups such as Arabs, Turks, Iranians will always view themselves as superior though, that however in the long term and in the hereafter (akhirah) is more their loss than anyone elses, as arrogance and hubris are always punished and cause damage.

No Muslim-Hindu conflicts in India today? You're kidding right?

I think you need to do some research because Hindus have an unviable hate for Muslims even today and still attack and pilotage their village. The mosque toppling back in 1995 by hindus who thought it was built on the ground where a former temple was standing. Slum dog millionaire goes more in depth of this. Also when Buddhists ( which also an offshoot of Hinduism) massacred tons of muslims in Burma last year. Even nationalist Hindus today say how they will "convert" Pashtuns "back to" Hinduism" and how they used be Buddhists before Islam and mock the Prophet.

That is more racial than religion.

The Bamars (majority Burmese ethnic group) don't like anyone other than themselves.

They have ethnically cleansed Indian Hindus in the past (1. Because they are Indic and not Mongoloid, 2. They are not Buddhist).

They have burnt churches, raped Christian women of the ethnic Kachin who like the Bamars are Mongoloid. Their hatred of the Rohingyas is primarily racial and secondarily religious.

However India does have Hindu extremism issues, definitely.
