PTI to act for Nato blockade

LAHORE - Seething with anger over the US drone strike just ahead of the start of peace talks with the Taliban, PTI chief Imran Khan demanded the federal government block Nato supplies going through Pakistan.
Talking to the media at the wedding of PTI Secretary-General Jehangir Tareen’s daughter, the PTI chief condemned the US drone attack in Miranshah that killed TTP chief Hakimulllah Mehsud and others.
Imran said the US is sabotaging efforts to establish peace in Pakistan by drone strikes in the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan. “Whenever the initiatives of peace talks are taken, US drone strikes sabotage them,” he said. The PTI chief said his party would table resolutions for blocking Nato supplies in the KPK Assembly and the National Assembly.
“It (the drone strike) has proved that the US doesn’t want peace in Pakistan,” he added.
Imran Khan said that PTI would also pass a resolution in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly against the drone strikes. He said that the PTI’s Core committee would meet to discuss the drone issue on Saturday (today).
KPK Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak said that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa needed peace. He condemned attack on the Taliban leadership.
PTI President Javed Hashmi said when the peace process is discussed, it is sabotaged by drone attacks.
KPK Speaker Asad Qaisar said that after approval by the Core Committee, session of the House (KPK Assembly) would be called to submit resolution to suspend Nato supply.
Imran Khan had said even a day earlier that his party had the capability to stop Nato supplies and warned that his words must not be taken lightly.

PTI has numbers to pass the resolution in KP assembly to shut down the NATO supply line through KP. I dont know what would happen to the resolution in the NA. PML-N would have two choices to 1) support it or 2) oppose it and publicly link themselves to supporting the US war.

Right now, the PML-N government has simply been public toilet paper for Kayani- the same tact *of using civilian government for cover of unpopular decisions) that Pak army has used before with Zardari and with ANP in KP.

Once KP assembly passes resolution that puts an end to NATO supplies, it could set up a clash with PML-N government and Pak Army. Interesting to see where this leads to. This would not sit well with Kayani.

      Good decision

America wants the supply line for 2014 as the mass withdrawal will start within few months.
They cant opt for air route because the routine supply cost as per American sources was 118million dollars per month when Pak had closed the supply line after the salala checkpost strikes by american apache killing 24 Pakistani soldiers.

With the mass withdrawal the cost per month will very well go beyond a couple of hundred million dollars.

Tax Them through torkham and chaman borders.A new road is being built from Bannu to kabul though the ghulam khan border opening into Khost.

If per H khan estimate if we charge 1 truck for 500dollars,it will generate us 900million dollars per year add to this the support cost they would have to pay for the destruction of our road network throughout Pakistan.

so KPK govt should tax them and generate revenue. In return invest the money into KPK and develop industries.

PTI is about to set a new industrilized small level city next to peshawar and yet another mega city closer to abbottabad.Work for KPK people.I am sure FATA will also be merged with KPK very soon under the govt
