  • Increase in Afghan Women Joining the Police Force in Afghanistan:

According to Kandahar Police Chief Abdul Raziq, number of female recruits has risen from 30 to 80 in the past year. This is a significant progress considering major challenges policewomen force is faced with conducting security or investigative operations that involves dealing with women particularly in the remote villages of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has seen slow but steady progress in the employment and empowerment of women in the areas of governance and commercial economy. Although much of that growth could be attributed to more progressive policies and the influence of the international community, the role of Afghan women's determination to get involved cannot be denied.
How effective is the role of women police officers in conducting security operations?

    Respectfully,

Afghan women have the role model of Malala in Past and the Malala of present. Once Men chauvinistic attitude is not changed , it will be very difficult for Pashtun women to get rid of their only abode of bed and kitchen.

However such news are very good that Afghan Pashtun women are now part of police which will make a tremendous difference as women will have more participation in social affairs and will set a trend for women to join government and private jobs as well as have their own economic and production units.

What an unsafe, ugly , irresponsible and mean society you are presenting here who will rape women because they are available to them .

This is why the women have to be imprisoned in 4 walls otherwise their honor, chastity and life are in danger.

I love the confidence in the eyes of the half naked women in a street in an infidel country where no one can dare to look at her without her choice but our 30 million Pashtun women are susceptible to rape once they are out of their 4 walls.

chances of getting raped with a gun on you has got to be whole lot less than with out a gun. what other field can these women find jobs in and be able to carry a gun on them?? there is not much respect they can beat out of men otherwise so this is a perfect option. men are simply not happy because for once, they can't pass on comments while a random innocent woman is on her way to work or home from work. and o, just because the men can't be decent in any field out there doesn't mean that women should resort to hiding in their kitchens instead pursuing careers outside for a change.

Are the afghan and pashtuns ready to respect these women in work place?
Are they mentaly prepared to do so?
                Are women all about sex?
Lets change this atitude first then bring them to the workforce?
I have seen pashtuns look to women from head to toe in the markets.
They are not even safe in burqa.
In pashtun society ,,parda,,is also for men.
Men never looked it women with greedy eyes in the past.
The women worked side by side with men in the fields but that culture is disappeared now.We have lost all our qualities. We are all suffering from mental illness. We treat women like ,,,da khpia chetara,,,.
Lets move back to our past learn something from there.

It is easy for you to write "more women for police officers to rape". I think you would agree with me that policewomen are very much needed in any country especially in Afghanistan. How would you solve this problem?

A thorough top to bottom cleansing of the entire security forces. You see, when you half ass a job, the way the international community has done in Afghanistan, more attention is paid to quantity then quality

Thats why 300,000 Afghan security forces cant establish the rule of law the way 30,000 saplaki wearing Talibs did

A thorough depoliticization of the officer corps in the Army and Police is needed to, but see you cant do that, because you relied on these goons to help you take over the country

Shouldve invested in one dictator from the beginning, pay off/kill/marginalize the rest of the warlords, and institute a one party system so at least the entire society can be ideologically trained in one direction.

Afghan police women get passed around like cigarettes in prison

But its okay, as long as we can give some nonsense statistic to foreign journalists to make em feel good about themselves right?

Yes before the introduction of Wahabi Islam women were working side by side with men with mutual respect.

Attitudes will be changed with such practical steps like recruitment of women in police and army. Attitudes will not be changed if few women do not volunteer for sacrifices. We need women as models so other should follow them.

The main issue is that Mullah has a big platform of propaganda against women in form of his daily and weekly discourses in mosques but secular forces do not have such a system. American forces are spending billions on bullets but not thousands on books and public diplomacy and preparing people to adopt to the modern concepts of life like women in jobs.

women in afghan security forces is a joke. the men can't even keep order, what chance do these women have that are being used in the name of progress?

badlun, for someone so opposed to islam and in favor of pashtun culture, you are going against pashtun culture by being in favor of this circus clown show of females in the police force.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
