Though it is not anthropology thread but let me give input on this one. Jats have diverse looks, but generally they are either very dark or gandami brown. They do not look like the picture of bollywood actor that you posted who has rather European looks. In pashto there is phrase "as dark as a jatt", there are also gujjars and awans in pakhtunkhwa and they are more lighter than jatts of DI khan. Also It seems that the common jatt peasant is darker while their chauhris are lighter in skin tone. But its all relative, punjabi jatts have better looks and physique than sindhis (the non-baloch ones) and indian mohajirs of karachi.

From my experiences with Balochis on a political level, the "Sheedis" or "Makranis" would be considered Balochi and part of the Baloch nation, though obviously on a cultural level they would not be considered pure Baloch belonging to a tribe.

A white Balochi would prefer a Sheedi to a Punjabi or Mohajir.

Until ArnoBaloch wrote all this I had no idea that such a difference existed between pure Balochis and Sheedis, and in fact pure Balochis and Balochi-descended people in Punjab and Sindh, since my former Balochi friend (a Rind) told me that even the Balochi-origin tribes of Sindh and Punjab such as the Mazaris of southern Punjab would be viewed as Baloch, but speaking a different language in the same way many Pashtuns/Afghans view Mahmudzais as 100% Pashtun but speaking another language i.e. Dari.

When I met the Khan of Kalat in London in a meeting I saw at least one black Balochis there, who was smiling and talking just like anyone else.

The average person of any ethnicity looks nothing like a famous actor, but there is a lot of variation, the pictures of the Punjabis you posted are a true representation of the average rural Punjabi, I think urban Punjabis look different.

Most Punjabis descend from Hindus that converted to Islam, some mixed with Arabs,Persians and Turks but it's not as common as Punjabis like to think, most of them are still pure Punjabi.

Punjabis used to follow a caste system, so the richer Punjabis tend to be lighter skinned, and the poorer ones are darker skinned.

I will always respect Pashtunkhwa Pashtuns for many reasons. We Bengalis have very little in common with Afghans and personally as a Bengali I see the closest Muslim nation to mine as the Malaysians.

So if you want to be part of Pakistan, we respect that and we wish you success and prosperity (for Pashtuns not for Pakistan as a whole).

If you decide to secede as Slovakia and the Czech Republic separated or ex-Yugoslavia then I hope that Pashtunkhwa and Bangladesh have the best relations possible and we will always support Pakhtoons.
