Pashtuns are ridiculously patriotic and loyal towards Pakistan.

We are 40percent in the Army and have served in high seats.
Pashtuns are 13.5-14.5 % in the army..I have already posted a link in another thread pertaining to it, so please leave this 40 % propaganda. Loll the name change was something that started with the Pashtun nationalists, the same ones that were called enemies and hindus. Now everyone wants to make this like its a victory of pakistaniyath. Did you all forget that not a few years ago these same patriotic pathans would stand tooth and nail against it. Now that ANP got it, you want to make it out to be a pakistani thing lozz. Please stop kidding yourself, this was a pashtun thing based on the platform for pashtuns. Maybe some are "ridiculously patriotic" but others are not. And like Tor khan said it before, it is unrequited love.

Pashtuns are more then that you are downplaying it.

Pashtuns are in ratio much higher then any other ethnic group cause they love PAKISTAN.

I have posted official sources for it. It is there, you can check it is ISPR itself. 13.5 % is where they are roughly at, and they are planning by around 2011 to boost it to 14.5 %.

I don't doubt that elements of Pakistan establishment (muslim leaguers) must have encouraged it. I don't think Pashtun nationalists consider those people bad at all, after all it was these tribesmen which Pak army so brutally is killing that once won them over what little kashmir they have. Ironic isn't it, the people who "freed" Kashmir are not free themselves.
Wrong ISI was created as an independent unit in 1948. It was within the IB but it was created way back then and as for your information cawthome was the deputy chief of staff in the Pakistan Army.. who did you expect to create the ISI ? maulvi ji ?

The Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence [ISI] was founded in 1948 by a British army officer, Maj Gen R Cawthome, then Deputy Chief of Staff in the Pakistan Army. Field Marshal Ayub Khan, the president of Pakistan in the 1950s, expanded the role of ISI in safeguarding Pakistan's interests, monitoring opposition politicians, and sustaining military rule in Pakistan.

                    from this article -http://www.globalsecurity.org/intell/world/pakistan/isi.htm

you are right about the timing, it was created in 48. However it was Cawthome`s brainchild.

And now this proves how blue eyed were for the Westerners. The formidable intelligence agency of the fortress of Islam was established by an infidel and enemy of islam.
