In observance of World Peace Day, the local population of Nangarhar joined youth affairs directorate members to deliver their message, “Don’t shed blood, donate blood” through a peaceful gathering. As a good will gesture, the participants donated blood to Nangarhar’s public health hospital blood bank for victims of armed clashed, emplaced IEDs and latest suicide bombings
Participants urged militants to lay down their weapons and join the peace process. One of the participants of Daronta Youths Association, Ihsanullah said, “The youth who carry weapons of others on his shoulder should understand that he can never be for the profit of his community, country and Islam.”
It is safe to say that Afghanistan has come a long way since the Taliban rule. It is great to see the youth being more proactive in regards to restoring peace in the country. Their efforts will play a major role in shaping Afghanistan’s future. These events leave us feeling optimistic about Afghanistan’s future. How much emphasis do you place on the youth’s role in the peace process?
Respectfully,
